So I just got my first Toyota tacoma it's a 2005 prerunner Sr5 dc. I love it only I have a few concerns, the noise it's making from top end like ticking and when I put it in reverse it's rattling sound like the exhaust or something and it has 140000 miles on it it was a one owner before me truck is in great condition only body problem is clear coming off my fender flares. So any advice would be great gonna post some pics tomorrow thanks

Congrats on the purchase!! Our V6's are notorious for having that top clicking sound coming from the engine. I forgot exactly where it was coming from but its normal so dont worry about it cause I did at first too. Not sure about your reverse noise though. Exhaust could be coming loose off the brackets.....might just have to be re-welded.

Heat shields and missing bolts/mounts cause a lot of noise with the exhaust, might give her a look. I took the heat shield off of my last car as it was broken to crap.

Can I ask how much you bought the truck for? Just curious on what the older models go for with that kind of mileage.

    lol
FYI the ‘05+ don’t have a timing belt they have a chain and it can last a lot longer before it needs to be looked at/adjusted or changed.

best mod for MPG is the right food mod. try and keep RPM’s under 2k if you can that will help more than anything.
