I'm currently in Dallas for some work-based training. I think it happened in either the hotel parking lot last night or in the parking lot of the training facility. Either way I'm pretty sure the tent is completely destroyed. From what I can see ( I haven't unfolded the tent ) the cut is through a large portion. More than a foot long. :(

Check the hotel's cameras and the training facility's cameras. These day most places have cameras on their parking lots for security.

Sorry that happen. People these days don't care about other peoples property.

If it just cut through fabric it can be repaired. It might not be as pretty as it was but its better then dumping such an expensive item.

Go to a local upholstery or outdoor shop (someone that deals with fabric, boat sails, patio awnings, etc) and they will be able to repair it for you or give you what you need to repair it.

I am sure the fabric is the same as most of the other ones which is the same rip-stop fabric that they use on a lot of products now a days.

Maybe it was the hotel that did it, wanted to make sure you didn't opt to sleep in your swanky rtt instead of the room :) but in all seriousness, file a police report, that way they have to check the cameras...

Went ahead and picked this up today-fits up great, makes it under the garage door by an inch or two.

Has anyone ever managed to throw a 12' Aluminum car topper boat on top of their truck with a RTT mounted as well?

Wondering if its possible with a canopy w/ rack, just a rack system, or both. Pics if anyones managed it :) Thanks.

The AC mat in my Ruggedized XL works awesome. Definitely makes a difference. I don't have one in my other tent and it gets condensation under the mattress almost every night. But the one with the mat never does.

    What RTT do you have?

I'm going to have an extra Mt. Shasta cover laying around now. It's made for the telescoping ladder, so it'll be a little tight if you don't have that but nothing is wrong with it.

I have the Mombasa. It doesn't have the telescopic ladder. I think I can patch the cover, it's the actual tent that appears to have taken most of the damage. I'll have to posts some pics to get opinions on whether its worth trying to repair. May just claim it on my insurance.

Do you think it would be stupid to mount an RTT on a bed rack this low profile? I've since put on a mild OME lift, still running 31s.

you mean low profile like this?
    _MG_9288_cf7491ffcb6d5578c02afdd6564f8842f609b1b4.jpg

Ran mine like that for a couple years. I actually preferred having it lower and would have kept it there if my fridge would fit underneath it.

    That rack looks familiar....

    ;)

I was just wondering if it was more "in the way" of walking around the truck etc when it was set up.

That low it will work - would be the same if you had it on a trailer too. Won't have much use for an annex at that level though. And don't worry about it being in the way - only when they're about 2" from being high enough to walk under do you need to worry. I've bumped into mine a few times...was more worried about fitting into my garage that I forgot to consider if I could walk under the damn thing!

That time of the month again?

I know it sounds strange but it does get dark at night.
