    **********EDIT************
    Check the VIS website too.

    Hood pins are required.

Google "Carbon Fiber hood flying up"

There are TONS! Its not the norm. But this never happens on stock hood as long as you latch it right. All you have to be is 1 of the people who had one fly up and may end up dead.

i had cf hood fly up on me in the audi.

    From DSMTalk.com

    http://www.dsmtalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=204702

Being a person who had a hood fly open on them (in an Escort when I was 18) while doing about 85 MPH's, I can tell you from experience that it is NOT something that you want to experience.

Had a hood fly up on me when i drove an m3. Wasnt fun at all. I was on the highway. windshield and hood were f'd
    .

I had a mustang (shutter) for a while and I had the hood fly up on me too.
I put hood pins in but found that people were always taking the pins out trying to get under the hood.

    From NSXPrime.com

    http://nsxprime.com/forums/showthread.php?t=99753&highlight=hood+flew

I have been a big believer in pins ever since a friend had his hood fly up in his modified 911 at 45mph, which nearly resulted in the car being totaled. The hood had been latched, but the composite material around the latch had been slowly stress cracking, and finally let go.

    From Hondaswap.com

    http://hondaswap.com/body-exterior-interior-cosmetics/carbon-fiber-hood-do-i-need-hood-pins-58094/

My fiberglass hood has pins....already had one hood fly up....Now I use hood pins....pins are much cheaper than a new hood!

    From Maxima.com

    http://forums.maxima.org/5th-genera...612-carbon-fiber-hoods-require-hood-pins.html

I personally know of one person who forgot to latch their hood pins down and it resulted in a smashed front windshield and damaged hood. This was on a 4th gen with a OEM style CF hood. IMHO drop the extra coin and get the hood pins...better safe than sorry (or dead)!

I had a VIS CF hood on my celica... VIS makes crappy body kits but they can sure make CF hoods. They say hood pins are required for legal reasons and if your smart you would have one. But I can tell you I've don 120mph on my celica with the hood and it was rock solid. The fitment was also perfect as close as you can get to stock.

Does any one know where you can get the cheapest glass hood? Not the ones for LT trucks with bulges on the side
