    yeah homer, I can't speak for the Air Force but in the past when I was active duty, they would suspend flying flare when it was too dry out. We don't really have to worry about flares here at the Florida Air Guard because our air to air range is over the Atlantic. But at Moody, GA the air to air range was right over Valdosta. Ya gotta figure those flares burn hot enough to fool IR missiles. So if its not extinguished by the time it hits the ground you could cause a fire.

    It sucked pretty bad my pregent wife had to evacute my house and I was stuck at work because the roads where closed due to the smoke.

    i still Blame NJ. if it weren't for all the jersey boys greasy hair that flare never would have ignited like that (sorry Mav, i had to say it, for the record i dont consider you a jersey boy)

    They make up for it when the A-10s do target pratice in the bombing range. Those things are badass.
