Another Slider Thread

Well I decided, after removing my mudflaps and aiming at keep my truck dent free for as long as possible, I am going to invest in some sliders. Now the question is, which ones? If i could pick any, it would be revenge fab as they're competitively priced yet look awesome. However, i'd like to get my sliders by the time 2010 hits so that's not an option. I thought about getting some stubs (the standard 1.5") but haven't seen any reviews of them on the trail. Demello costs too much for my taste. So what now?

I'm using the sliders primarily as protection from rocks kicked up by my tires but also wheel some tight trails where they would need to keep my doors looking sexxy. They also need to be able to be able to lift my truck when I use a hi-lift Jack.

ask Fire931, he makes the Armortech bumpers... he has some on his truck that he recommends and they are pretty cheap and he drives the shit outta his truck, ive seen it, so if theyre still attached they should work for anyone

They're (shockworks) $500!!!! Too much.
And I heard revengefab is having some issues right now. There are quite a few members who didn't receive their sliders and the rep refuses to call anyone back.

 

I like the look and price of the Stubbs, but haven't heard anyone who has them. I would be interested in folks opinions on them

 

they are from adam at 4xinnovations.. i got the dom version but the hrew would be just fine also and a little cheaper... also mine have the kickout at the rear

Same here. The stubbs are the EXACT style/look I want. I just don't know if they'll hold up.

I got some trailgear sliders from east coast gear supply for $250 or $275. I like them.They were bolt on however, you have to tap the holes in the frame and there is one screw on each side of your frame you will have to shave to get them on right.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who contributed to the thread and helped me decide on some sliders. I decided to gO with the ones made by 4xInnovations as members have reported excellent results and performance from them. Chris:thanks for the tips on painting the sliders, I'll definitely be going this route.

I'll post pics when I get my sliders on and painted.

 

If I had seen this thread earlier, I would have recommended the Stubbs to you as well. That's what I ended up getting. Deluxe model.
As far as them holding up... he welds a tube inside of the outer tube. They're beefier then the Shrocks, and have four legs instead of 2/3 depending on what you order from Shrock.
Not to mention, I had mine in just under a weeks time. Shrock is at least 6 weeks out.

 

Well I stil haven't ordered the sliders- I'm planning to on Monday. Thanks for the info on the stubbs but after some research, I think I'm gonna stick with the ones from 4xinnovations. I'm gonna pay $340 for 1.75" DOM tubing, that includes shipping. I think the stubbs come out to $400+ which is more than I wanted to spend.

 

I guess for me it pays to be local. I don't do much offroading, but I have the Revenge Fab sliders. Heck, I called up Derek (revenge fab) on a friday, and by saturday he had them all welded up, painted and ready to go. I showed up at his shop on Saturday, and he even welded them on for me. Love them!!

If nothing else, i watched a large oldsmobile park next to me in a parking lot, he flew his door open into my passenger door slider with a loud "THUNK". He got out, looked at his door, then my slider, shook his head, walked away. His door has a large dent on the edge of the door, and my slider needed some spray paint, thats it. Poor oldsmobile driver Hehehehehe thank you Derek!

 

I'm bored on my lunch and was looking over the threads I started since I joined TW, which includes this one, and its pretty cool to see how much knowledge I've gained in the last 18 months. I started some dumb ass threads when I first joined. Lol. Thanks TW

 

Holy crap those are pretty cheap... or rather.. inexpensive. I think I might be getting them as well.... if I can find some for an 09 access, all these seem to be for first gens.

 

I am pretty sure these work with access cab too. Give him a call and ask.
