It does. But that's when I first powered it up. It sucks to see 14.3 mpg also.

Awesome thanks, that is exactly what I was looking for. I was just curious if 1st gen only had a limited data output. I'm manual so trans temp is a pretty low priority. G/s is an easy conversion. It would be nice to know roughly how much I'm flowing at wot on occasion.

I went with ultragauge. Had it for a little over a week. It lists AT temp but no show...
Still tinkering with the screens (7 available) and use just two right now, mostly because I don't know what a lot of the gauges are...

I did increase my mileage by 2MPG on the last tank just having the instantanious MPG gauge...

    Will the Scangauge show:
    1) MPG
    2) HorsePower (is this even possible???)

for a 1998:confused: For HP, don't you need a dyno/garage/shop for measurements like that? Sorry if these are retarded questions. If not the HP, then at least the MPG. That would be kinda cool to see how fast my truck is draining the life out of me:D

Yes, the scanguage will show MPG, both instant and average.
I believe it's supposed to show HP if you ask it to, I'm not sure as I always use engine load as a gauge instead of HP.

So that I'm not misunderstanding, this is the ScanGaugeE and not the ScanGauge II Ultra?

Finally, how do you use "Engine load" as a gauge? I know it gives out some sort of %? Am I correct or something like that? Does make sense that you would go off of a percentage as that tells how hard the engine is working... correct? I think a typical idle, no real load other than the engine just running is around 19% or a little higher? I know it will differ, but is this about right... around this range? Sorry if these are lame questions, but just trying to learn. Thanks for the fast input too.

397HP:eek: THAT WOULD BE FREAK'N AWESOME IF MY LIL'OL 2.7L 4-BANGER PUT OUT THAT MUCH!!!:p Yeah, I have to admit, that's ridiculous. The firmware in that thing isn't converting the BCD correctly I would imagine:rolleyes: The programmer that coded the firmware used different conversion tables or something:eek::confused:

Still... would be nice if that WAS truely 397HP:p Talk about a "sleeper":p;):D
