Don't know if you ever figured it out or not but I just got a new rda and it was killing me until I figured out the airflow. I needed a lot more airflow and now it's great.

All of my RDAs have huge airholes. I take a direct hit like a bong with mine, not the little mouth drags like on a tank. Gotta have big vents or I won't buy it. I've even drilled bigger holes in tanks I like that didn't breath enough.

Test results on the new dual battery mod:

Hit like a train for 34 hours before it finally started hitting like my single-battery Hades. I plugged it in to the micro usb recharger for my phone last night right at midnight, and at 6am when I woke up, it was fully charged. Next test will be to see how long it takes my 10,000mah backup battery pack to charge it, then the 14w solar panel test.

It fits perfect in my center console single cupholder, too. Doesn't bounce around like the Hades did, and it can't tip over in there or lean.

So far so good. No heating up of anything except the tank itself due to the coils getting so much power. I'm loving this thing. The USB rechargability is my favorite secondary feature.

I like it! What did it cost you to put it together? Any other option for the enclosure? Not sure I like the translucent blue...

Total for all parts was $42 out of pocket for the case, battery springs, 510 connector, button and voltmeter shipped. 2 MNKE batteries from Amazon were $20 shipped on top of that. I already had the 14 gauge solid copper wire for the internals, and I had some scrap circuit boards that I cut up and fit perfectly in the card slots in this model of box. They were used as supports to hold the battery contact springs. The cases are made by Hammond and they have solid black, clear blue, clear, and clear red. They have some other models in creme and white, too. But, I wanted a translucent one so I could put the voltmeter inside and see it through the box, and also the charging board has a red and blue LED showing charging status which I can see through the box. The fewer holes I had to drill out, the better. Round holes for the 510 connector and the button were easy, but I don't have the gear to cut out clean rectangular holes.

Vosvape makes almost this exact same mod. After I searched for boxes and found Hammond, then started piecing it all together, I was doing some searches and found the Vosvapes which are almost identical to mine. I thought I had something a bit more original but theirs is so close. They want $199 on eBay for theirs, though. But, mine has the added voltmeter and charging port, so mine's better :p Vosvape also uses the solid copper wire to make some copper springs for battery contacts, but my stainless ones have zero voltage drop and they're easier to work with.

OK, just went to get a e-cig and I am already liking what I purchased. I have seen this thread on hear but until now didn't read anything about this. I had no idea that you could make your own juice. I will try this out for a while to see how I like it and hoping that I can get off the cigs.....

That's a huge step in the right direction when your first try is a good experience. I think folks that try the wrong product first just don't give it enough chance to realize how much more enjoyable it can be than analogs. Congrats!

Work your way up to making juices. For now, just experiment with buying juices until you find your go-to flavors, then once you're committed to vaping you can look into making your own. There are plenty of resources online and a few in here (I make my own all the time) to instruct you.

I've been using a xxix copper mod lately and I love it but I already want to upgrade to an unregulated box mod.
Would you be interested in making a write up on how you made your box or even selling one?

We should have a bst section in here on old mods. I'm getting antsy to get a new mod since I'm on 0 mg nicotine now and no issues. Very proud of that if you can't tell. I want something to start toying with. My mvp 2.0 just won't cut it for that.

Not the same as a cigarette? Those gas station lookalikes never did it for me either. If you're trying to quit smoking, get a better set up.

Just made my first batch of DIY ejuice....

    Just watermelon. It's pretty good.
Got some menthol crystals too, but I have no idea how much of that to use.

I tell you what.... I'm building another one for a friend in the next 2 weeks, so I'll do a thorough write-up on it with pics. Making my first one was tedious, but now that I know what I'm doing, the second one should go much faster. I'd considered building them to sell, but I gotta say that my time lately is much more valuable to me than the time I put into making the first one. If I end up streamlining the process to get one done within 2 hours, I'll consider it.

The lifesaver in the build really has been the Dremel drill press that I picked up on Amazon. It's great for holding the Dremel steady in any position so I can put two hands on the empty box and get some steady machining accomplished. Best $35 on Amazon that I've ever spent.
