Does anybody like SOG? I was looking at the SOG Zoom and really liked how it looks, the action and the pocket clip!

What does everybody else think of this? Any alternatives of a good EDC/Tac knife. Need something solid for hunting and every day stuff.

I'd get anything Keshaw before I'd get a sog, not treat quality from what I've seen. Keshaw makes some great but still inexpensive flippers and fixed blades.

I have a good size collection of blades. That one is my favorite EDC by far.Easy to sharpen.Works well.I have a few other mini grips in different colors and styles. You can't beat them.I always go back to the Ritter.Never without it.Next blade may be Spyderco Para Military 2.Wish they made it in a 3 inch blade so I could use it at work and edc it without worries.

Just picked up a new EDC.

    Protech Tactical Response TR-3

The fit and finish is great, but the sharpness out of the box leaves a little to be desired. I'll take care of that tonight though.

If you're going to get anything SOG..look at the knives that are made in Seki, Japan. Those are the best knives they offer. The Trident is a decent cheap knife. But if you want something that will last and hold a good edge, you get what you pay for.

I abused the shit out of the Trident Tanto for 6 years and had zero issues with any part of it. Lock up was rock solid, no edge deformations, tip breakages, zero problems with the assisted opening, or any other problems.

    Guess I got lucky!

I certainly don't recommend SOG across the board, but please enlighten me on how many Trident knives you've used over the years and how they fared you? Nobody is confusing AUS8 with super steels, but you appear to be talking out of your ass. So please, quantify your experience that says mine is incorrect.
