I wonder if it's possible to put a 2nd gen Tacoma front clip on my 4Runner? The satoshi looks SOOO badass with the tacomas... Plus the Bushwhacker flares for the 2nd gens

I have some extra I could part with. I can't see myself needing it for anything else once I verify this stuff sticks and stays on there. I bought Lamin-X stuff and was surprised how thick the film was.

Awesome photo by the way

Pricing it out with 2012 parts on RockAuto
    $61.79 each for fenders
$0.00 for flares. I will just be patching the holes
    $103.79 for the front grill
$150.79 for a CAPA certified hood with skewp
$126.79 each for headlights. Will be doing BHLM and retrofit with my projectors
$65.79 for the radiator support piece
$10.37 each for bumper filler pieces

Grand total of $718.27 before taxes, shipping, and paint. What's good is the main pieces are cheap. If I leave out the headlights and buy them off ebay or used somewhere, that brings me back down to $464.69! Not a very expensive mod if it works! I'd buy the fenders and radiator support first, to ensure that they would fit with the doors, and the width is the same, then I would get the flashy stuff.

Seems like $500 - $750 would go a lot futher to help out your expo/SAS build rather than taking a chance on trying to change the front end when the one you have fits perfectly well. Your money, just seems like a lot of money for a minor cosmetic change.

Oh I know. It just seems interesting and unique, plus the majority of the parts aren't that expensive. My issue is actually clearance with the front fenders. The 4Runner fenders are rather ugly without the flares

This will allow me to clearance them and not have to deal with the holes and weird lines.

Plus I'm going LT, no more SAS. LT is far more favorable for AZ

Yes or a fender so I can mock things up. That would be cool!

Are you going fiberglass fenders? The stock Prerunner and 4x4 Tacomas have the same holes in the fenders. That second picture looks like fiberglass with a high cut so you can go LT.

Just a thought, but if the final goal is to go long travel, why not wait until then? That way you can buy Tacoma fiberglass fenders with the extra rise built in so you can cycle that LT suspension and not have to cut up your fenders? Just a thought.

I swear my MPGs have gone up a noticeable amount since I've changed all the oil in the drivetrain.

Actually the Tacoma fenders pictured are off an XRunner or 2wd non-prerunner

I will be going LT but not for a while, and in the meantime, I would like a little face lift and I need the clearance for just the 33's, never mind LT

Oh, I see, then you'll add bushwackers to get the width again. I still say go fiberglass :D

Fiberglass is a possibility but I want to ensure it fits properly with the new nose before spending $400 on glass.

With all my down time as a diver, I might be able to make big ass flares that look like the glass ones out of steel with some welding and metal massaging

Where did you get the info that commercial divers make a fortune? I was talking to one of my buddies from Mass Maritime and he says they don't make a ton and work is tough to find. This site seems to support that.
