Yeah, just tried to throw some Canadian humor (failed) in there. Been there a couple times. We took our MC up to VC Island for a week, it rained almost the whole time, got really nice riding though Victoria, on the way home. Beautiful place.

I'll do the go pro's Monday, sooner if we have time..

Yeah, even my wife's Hyundai vibrates water a bit from road feedback. That looks like pretty normal feedback for A/T tires. Notice most cars passenger seats vibrate a little bit even when the ride feels silky smooth.

Given the OP's description, I'm expecting that his wattle bottle will function like a blender.

Yeah, even before the duratracs, my seats would shake, but it wasn't anything I would consider a problem.

The road for the most part is in great shape. No pot holes or chunks missing. All black top. It was repaved in the last 2 years.

To tell you the truth, I don't think my center column vibrates that bad. The door panels and seats get it on pretty good though.

Here's an iPhone video of my truck because I was bored. Sorry it's shaky, I don't have anything to hold the camera still so I used my right hand. I super surprised at how smooth mines actually is. I can feel some feedback in my steering wheel from my Bilistein 5100 lift and supercharger but not much. I was traveling 130 kph (~80 mph) and the road surface was normal for a secondary highway. No divots or potholes but definitely not fresh asphalt smooth.

And I have a lift, A/T tires, engine mods, etc. All the shit that should give me vibes and my truck is fine...

EDIT: They must build them better in Mexico

My center column doesn't really vibrate. I think that's just my phone shaking. However, the vibrations were making my hand shake that was holding the phone.

My seats shake pretty good, but it didn't really show up on the phone so I didn't post the video.

I know this will not help your cause or make you feel any better but several years ago I had a Mazda pickup with a bad shake/vibration. I kept telling the dealer it was the wheels and/or tires. I finally went to a tire store and had them check it out. Turned out 3 of the 4 wheels were warped. They put a gauge up against the outside of the rim while turning it and measured the amount of play. After taking the documented measurements to the dealer, they simply stated the figures were within Mazdas acceptable limits.

Hmmm, weird. In theory if the vibes are bad enough to make you sick anything that's not dampened should shake to bejebbers. For my video I even found a glass that fit so snug in the cup holder it was a bit nasty to get back out. My passenger seat vibrates a bit but not enough to notice unless you sat there and stared at it.

Seems like the allowable limits just happen to be a bit above what your rims (and my vibration) measure. Convenient? I think so. Did they give you a copy of the report with specs etc? I need a court order to obtain the vibration report for the Tacoma. I am going to check the rims, axles, drums and rotors tomorrow with a dial indicator. The run out tolerances should be in the manual I recently downloaded.

    Thanks..

No offense, but I'm not real clear about what point you're trying to make about a theory? If one thing shakes, everything should shake?

Just a weird question, but why not try rotating the rear rims to the front tires and see if the shake feels different? If your suspension guru thinks its in the rear that would eliminate the chances that the vibes are coming from your rim's or your new rims... Also, you did try new good rims from some guy right? Are those rims still on the truck and did he ever have an issue with them? If the new rims are still on there and didn't help then the rear drums, the pumpkin components, and the axle shaft are pretty much the only things you haven't tried checking out.

The more you describe this issue the less it sounds like it could be something before the transfer case. Highspeed vibes with little to no lower speed issues would, IMHO, suggest something beyond the transmission is the culprit.

BTW how do you measure vibrations exactly? While Hz would work great for the frequency it's the amplitude that's causing your head to spin. Couldn't Toyota just fudge in some arbitrary unit that isn't simple to understand then say your trucks within tolerances and you'd have no frame of reference to judge the vibe against? Especially since the other truck they tested apparently had the same values? I would doubt Toyota would risk lying about the values being the same given written statements like that would fry them in a court of law.

    Just some food for thought.
