Haha. After they have it a few years im sure Ill be able to invite people. They are arnt going to rent it out and my wife and I will have a room up there. It will be awesome...

They nice thing about them not renting it out is I can leave my skis, snow gear, toothbrush, phone charger up there. It will be like a second home. My inlaws are like my second parents. Ive known them since highschool and I spent alot of time at their house.

Thats their plan. They want to retire in a few years and they dont want to retire in there big empty house in the bay. They want a small cabin in tahoe. They like road biking in tahoe and they ski everyweekend during the season so it makes sense. My parents are retiring soon and plan on getting a beach house. Were going to have it made.... free vacations on the beach and in the mountains.

Hey Jason. It was nice meeting you at slickrock. I figured you would show up here.... Any predictions on the season? We want snow and I know you will see it before us.

As for the snow...El Nino winter is still a crap shoot at this point. I'm as hopeful as everyone else. You know how it goes though.
I will say the "old guys" up are all beefing up on cardio and waxing their gear already if that's any indication.

    Haha. Ill take it.

I went up during the first big storm of the season last year. I Just bought my 4x4 and put 32s on, a bumper, and a 3 inch lift. My wife and I already had the trip planned but It had been snowing for a couple days. They reported chains required before I went to bed. I woke up around 4 we hit the road and it was pouring rain. we got to placerville and there was a few inches of snow on the freeway. We hit the base of the mountain and they were turning people around. I told my wife I guess were going home. We got up to the front of the line and highway patrol officer asked. Are you 4 wheel drive. I said yes. He said "snow tires and chains" I said yes. He said go with those two. I saw 2 lifted 4x4 full size trucks pulled over about 50 yards up. We hit the road unplowed. We drove down the middle. Going slow. couldnt see. The wipers kept freezing to the wind shield. But it was probably the most fun Ive had in my truck ever. It took us a few hours to get up the mountain but it was worth it. We had the road to ourselves.

That must have been awesome! I love driving in awesome snowy weather! My favorite time to drive is when there's nobody on the road because of a huge dump!

    Awesome.

The one good storm we had last year I stayed up till 2:00am just so I could go play in the unplowed roads.

I got my season pass to Northstar again this year!!!! I can't wait to get up and board.

Nick, have your in-laws looked in the soda springs area for a cabin at all? My family has a cabin in soda springs and I love it in that area.
