I was turning a corner, and my rear tires slipped out and I lost control and slammed into a tree. I got lucky and the cop said that since I was only 17 and this stuff happens, he didnt write me a ticket. But now I cant open the door anymore because its wedged inbetween the fender and frame, my hoods out of place, 2 of my rims are bent and my front bumper is coming off. I started crying because this is the worst thing ive ever done to this truck.

I know where you've been, dude. I wrecked my 2001 Bullitt Mustang and did about $16k worth of suspension and body damage. Glad to hear you're ok, but be careful out there!

Just thank the lord that nothing happend. Vehicles can be replaced, people cant. Honestly the rear tires just dont slip out, get the lead out of your foot and slow down. Hope everything goes well. Goodluck

+1 In ANOTHER accident at 17 should give you an indication that you need to start paying attention and slow down. What if someone else had been coming the other way, driving carefully, and you'd taken them out. The truck would be the least of your worries.

I hate how people coddle guys that do something stupid and take no responsibility for it. You screwed up. Plain and simple. Accept that. Learn from it. Change the way you drive. It's that easy.

my wife wonders why I drive like a grandpa as soon as it starts to rain. These trucks are sketchy when the roads are slick. Something just clicked for me and I asked myself "What are the consequences if I wreck and what are they if I'm late?" Then I decided that I should just leave 5 minutes earlier.

i'm not trying to kick a man whiles he's down but "going around a turn and your tires slipped out" translation: i gunned it around a turn so i could drift around the turn. i'm not trying to be a dick but i have done similar things when i was your age and my excuse was always like yours. hell i did that in my beamer just a few years ago and caused all kinds of suspension damage. sorry to hear about your truck but hopefully you learned to slow down and not be reckless (although it took multiple little ding ups for me to learn that lesson, hopefully your a faster learner than me)

It takes a big man to cry, but it takes an even bigger man to laugh at that man.

lol, I think the guy got the message (the side of his taco being the proof) with almost everyone here in a sense telling him he should probably slow down. You live and you learn right? I'm pretty sure everyone here has screwed up in some way and said to themselves "_____(add personal explicative), I probably should not do that ever again"
