Here is a video of the Baja test run with the new BFGs...

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=22lEnYDEIYQ

Having seen and been in vehicles with BFGs having sidewall failures, this redesign is most encouraging. The All Terrain TA is the #1 all terrain tire, and they should have addressed the sidewalls years ago... The video is impressive, I would even consider them now... but always dismissed them before, having seen too many failures in Baja.

Strongly disappointed with their sizing and release timeframes. All those sizes should be released at the initial launch, with some additional in april IMO because theres still some sizes missing that would be popular. Not even a size in there that I would want to run on my truck if I were dead set on these. :notsure:

So will all sizes listed in the phase 1 be available the first week of November or will the different sizes be coming out all month long? Also, when will Discount post them on the website with pricing? Would it be smart to preorder due to limited availability? My tires are done right now...think I can make it a month but will buy something else now if there are problems with timing and availabity.

Have a question about the BFG's? I'm getting ready to put a 3" lift on my 13 Tacoma and was going to buy the Toyo Open Country II tires but after reading some reviews would it be better to get BFG's all-terrain t/a ko ? I've never had either brand before. I'm mostly using them for daily driving but want a decent tire for sand or snow. Any advise would be awesome.

+1 I can't wait till March for the 285/70/17. Really doesn't make sense to me that they would not release the most popular sizes in phase 1. Disappointing

I have seen the new Toyo, Nitto and now the BFG's, they all seem to have adapted the tread style of the Duratrac and changed the pattern of the sidewall, but you really can't beat the Nitto trails, the Toyo M/T or the Kevlar's for side pattern's (IMO) they are great tires the Toyo and Nitto weigh too much and will suck gas but seem to take a lot of abuse, the Kevlar's seem to be about as good and are around ten pounds lighter in 37's than Nitto's 35's might as well get the durty 7 Kevlar's then I will have a set of 33's 35's and 37's, man I feel another stupid attack coming.

Why does BFG refuse to make an all terrain tire in 255/85/16?

Would like to see that. Not a huge selection. Love the look of that size on our trucks

I have the 265/70 16s on my 2013 Baja Tacoma. These aren't on the list. Would have to go to the 265/75 16s, not a bad thing, but larger than the spare.

Chances are phase 1 sizes will trickle in throughout November. Shoot us a PM with the size you're after and we'll see if we can nail down an accurate ETA for you. Pricing will go live on our website once inventory arrives to us from BFG.

I haven't seen a side by side comparison between the Open Country ATII and the new KO2 but from our recent testing, the KO2 handled the different Baja terrain we pushed it through with ease, which includes sand and mud. We weren't able to test the tire in winter conditions (obviously) but the KO2 does carry the mountain snow flake symbol for sever winter conditions. With solid on and off-road driveability, the KO2 is a solid pick for your daily.
