:tumbleweed::goingcrazy:Well it would be nice if this will be a valid recall. Just about to replace my springs due to the left side leaf spring sagging.

I just quoted for new parts for replacement 2 week ago.

    One can hope.... patiently waiting.

I don't know. In my experience, about the only thing that was and has remained of high quality on a Toyota is the rock-solid engine. My 1980 truck's body had to be sanded down and repainted every year due to rust, especially the bed. I also seem to recall pulley bearings, ball joints and U-joints going out frequently too. Fortunately, they were easy and inexpensive to replace back then.

I think that with the Internet people are just complaining more and organizing better so now we have TSBs and recalls where in the past it was just your tough luck if something broke down past warranty.

Of the four Toyota trucks I've owned ('80, '87, '03, '06), my current 2nd Gen Tacoma is by far the best in overall quality and is leaps and bounds better than the Chevy and Ford trucks I had back in the 70s.

Edit: I must have picked a good year (my Tacoma is like a fine wine?) because the only recall currently on mine is the one where they want to cut an inch off the gas pedal. As I'm not an idiot who tends to put a half dozen loose floor mats down then freak out and forget that a vehicle can be shifted into neutral, I've never though it necessary to get this done.

If there is a recall on the leaf springs, and if an option is to install the newer 4-spring pack, I might just take them up on it because I never got the TSB done (it would be ironic, though, if the recall is specific to the 4-spring pack).

LOL, maybe the "recall" is just to put some extra bands around the springs to keep a piece from coming out and hitting anything, wouldn't that be a hoot.
