What's the most I should pay for a tsb leaf pack with less than 10k on them?

Does anyone else think the oil drain plug seems to loosen itself?
No matter what I've tightened it to, it's barely finger tight the next time I go to drain it.

 

Well ........ Now that you figured it out, looks like I'll have to start loosening something else .......

But I've never noticed that on my truck. I know I need a new drain plug cause I have no gasket anymore

gaskets are replaceable, mine doesn't have a gasket and I have no loosening issues or leaks

 

I use a new gasket every time but the design changed a while back. Maybe it's getting more permanent compression in the plastic now rather than continuing to press against the plug.

So if you can run without a gasket and not leak, what is the purpose of it?

 

I think it's supposed to prevent over tightening. I don't know. bmw's need one on the drain plug, other wise they do leak.

 

My truck has never had a gasket there. I've never had any problems with it being too loose or leaking.

Yeah I haven't had a gasket for like the last 10 oil changes and it doesn't leak. I just want a new one

 

Our trucks are fine with no gasket, I always use a copper crush gasket with the rubber lining inside it though, helps keep it tight.
A bunch of cars will leak without a gasket though, most honda's will, all of the new hyundai's. Used to have cars come back to work all the time because guys would forget to put gaskets on them.

 

Speaking of being replaceable ...... The neighborhood I'm building my house in has a bunch of empty lots in it and we picked the biggest one (little over 20k sq ft.) and its in a loop style street. Well we went to look at it Sat and there's a neighbor on one side and 6 empty lots on the other side before the next house. The next door neighbor has a 2013 red dc Tacoma and a brand new dodge sittin in the driveway so I went to their door to talk to them. It's a young couple, late 20s who just moved from Jackson, TN and I got to talkin to them and the Tacoma is the girls, who just sold her lifted jeep to get, and the dude has a 1000 4door razor he offroads. Pretty cool. Then I rode back over there yesterday to look at something and the house on the other side of the empty lots has a 2013 white dc Tacoma with a 3" lift and mud tires on it. Haha so I might just be staying home a lot and riding local ...........
