Just switch it over to natural gas and be REALLY different.

 

If I got the TRD charger, I would get a meth kit. However, its very expensive to do right, complex to tune, and would put me way over what Im already invested in with the turbo.

That said, I don't need boost for wheeling and I don't need a meth kit for the Turbo

A quick question for the crowd; is anyone losing sleep because Im putting a turbo on my truck? Am I somehow ruining someone's life right now? Or did we just time travel back to high school. Grow up ppl. If Ive been over opinionated in the past WRT your builds I apologize. If you want to critique mine fine, critique, Ill take it into account and we can both move on. If you want to be ass hats, go elsewhere. Thank you very much.

From what I understand, Chris is gonna Turbo and Supercharge his truck, and Matt is gonna make his Can am run on Propane.

So just to weigh in here, sc and turbo both compress air. When it is compressed, it heats up. Thus the need for an intercooler if you want dense air in your motor....
Just because the turbo is exhaust driven, you might get slightly higher temps but only due to the heat load being removed by the oil. But if your sc is high compression you will also have high temps. Sc take load from the motor, turbo does not.
So overheating.... Its a toss up.

This is the most active and best group on TW IMHO, everyone is willing to lend a hand and help one another out. I think simpler is better, no need for supercharger or turbo in my opinion for overlanding type of build (less things to fail on the trail).

If your gunning for a mud bog racer, or hard core rock crawling where a lot of HP is needed then certainly, but wouldn't it be better to have a purpose built rig? And all the shit that goes along with it (i.e. trailer queen)! And as far going fast on the road, no matter what GEN, this truck has the aerodynamics of a lead brick.

Just some random thoughts for discussion.

I got a Turbo kit almost a year ago causing Clint to think suicidal thoughts. Everyone is trying to mediate on his behalf but I don't care about Clint, Im still putting at Turbo on my truck
