    Hey guys thanks for reading!

Yesterday I went to put my 2006 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport into 4hi and had the four wheel drive and 4lo icons flashing at me at the same time. I switched it back to the two wheel drive setting, only to have them keep flashing at me. I do not believe the truck ever entered four wheel drive. I shut it off and started it back up to have the icon still flashing.

On the way home, I stopped and turned the truck off again. After I restarted it there were no icons at all. During the drive home, I switched it into 4hi on the fly to see if anything would happen and sure enough it engaged, only showing the solid green four wheel drive icon. I rocked 4hi for a quarter of a mile and then switched it back to 2 on the fly just to receive the original dual icons flashing. At this point I think it may have been stuck in 4hi. I got to my driveway shortly after and shut the truck off again started it back up, shifted to neutral and shifted the selector back to 2 high, it shifted into 2 high. In neutral I tried to actuated into 4hi and 4lo while at a stop always receive the flash and icons once again.

I read about the diodes in the selector, the stuck actuators and the possible funky connections. I also read about a fuse going out? I just found it funny it wouldn't shift into anything, then shifted fine, then shifted back to normal, no back to nothing.

Also, lots of clicking what appears to be behind my dash in the glove box area. ??

    Thanks!!

I don't know. I took mine to a local shop tranny shop. But the cost was a little bit over that. I think it came out to about 1k for parts and labor.
