Looked up my VIN on toyota.com/recall
    Here's what it shows.

    Title
Safety Recall E02 (E12) Preliminary Notification - Certain 2005-2011 Model Year Tacoma Pre-Runner and 4x4 Vehicles Rear Leaf Spring
    Status
    Remedy Not Available
    Description
The subject vehicles’ rear suspension system contains leaf springs that are constructed of either three or four leaves. There is a possibility that a leaf could fracture due to stress and corrosion. If this occurs and the vehicle continues to be operated, the broken leaf could move out of position and contact surrounding components, including the fuel tank. If the broken leaf contacts the fuel tank repeatedly, it could puncture the tank and cause a fuel leak. In the presence of an ignition source, this could result in a fire.
    Remedy
Toyota is currently preparing the remedy for this condition.

Had one break that was draped across my rear diff for about a week before I realized it had happened...Thankfully it didn't fall off on the highway and go through someone else's windshield!

    preparing the remedy means

    a) designing and certifying a fix

    b) loading the 1-day ship distribution warehouses with enough parts

    c) supplying remote dealers directly with enough parts

until a-b-c happens they cannot do the recall.

there ain't any recall fairies that just come down from heaven and shit out leaf spring packs on demand

just like the spiral cable assembly airbag problem for Yaris and Scion, this has been known for 6 months and they still don't have a remedy yet, because they need to get 7 million spares built

I understand the parts issue. and no one said anything about a recall fairy so that comment was kinda uncalled for, i wasnt being rude or anything.

If 2012-2014 are not in the recall, could they not use springs from that. Most of the time it doesnt matter if they have the recall fix figured out or not, dealerships have to order parts and people still have to wait. I know its not going to be an overnight thing and its not going to be everyone at one time.

I would be so thrilled if this means I'd get the 4-pack leafs on my truck!

Well, mine's not included. I was hoping for springs that take the cargo better.

    Rep to the OP !

If Toyota keeps this up everyone will get their tuck replaced on piece if metal at a time !!
