Yeah that's the model years it covers, what I'm saying is this should have been taken care of a long long time ago, not continue to produce trucks with inferior springs. It doesn't take long to find out the springs are junk, All auto manufacturers are guilty of this Toyota is just a little better at taking care of there consumer.

Can't be. Mine has the original non-TSB 3-leaf pack.

...but, mine is a very late 2011. Manufactured in May of that year. I wonder if there was some sort of difference mid-year. I do have the newer gauges which not all 2011s have.

I should have mentioned something about mine not being listed, but I didn't actually check my VIN until after I called them.

This is all happening right now because the NHTSB came down really hard on auto manufacturers hiding known problems after the GM ignition key problems came to light. I wouldnt be surprised to see a whole bunch of recalls quietly released in the next few months by all the auto companies. They have all been doing it and now they are all under the microscope.

Just checked mine on the Toyota owners portal and it is listed as qualifying but it states that there currently isn't a remedy.....

Any thoughts that this might be just the TSB leafs for all of us that were out of warranty (hence the '05-'11 specifically listed)? My truck is an '05 so I won't complain about a free leak pack and just do an AAL.

I'm hoping they'll replace my springs. I bought my 07 used in April 2009 with 3800 miles on it (yes, 3800!) and after towing a couple times with a 10' utility trailer and a single ATV, I was very disappointed on the rear spring sag and rough ride. My dealer performed the 4 pack TSB and things were much better. Fast forward to around 2012, and I notice the rear of the truck isn't setting near as tall when unloaded, almost a leveled stance. Now, I've upgraded to a 16' double axle utility trailer and a Teryx4 SxS. I'm definitely ready for another set of leaf springs, so hopefully Toyota comes thru with this recall.

Hmmm, mine doesn't seem to qualify for the recall... I wonder what the criteria are?

It's been done in the past. Just wishful thinking even though it's 99.9% chance that it won't happen

Mine does show up on the Toyota site when I entered the VIN. Guess, we'll wait and see however.

if you jump through some red tape, it might be possible. i ordered the dakar pack in 2012, so i may be hosed unless i meet one of the two criteria. i don't know these specific dates, so i would have to dig some more.

    From NHTSA:

If I pay for needed repairs before a recall is ordered, am I entitled to reimbursement?

Yes, under certain conditions. Manufacturers are required to provide reimbursement for certain costs incurred by owners to remedy safety defect conditions prior to a recall. Vehicle manufacturers are required to reimburse owners for costs incurred to remedy a defect based on either (1) the date NHTSA opens its Engineering Analysis, or (2) one year prior to the manufacturer’s notification of a defect to NHTSA, whichever is earlier. The closing date of eligibility for reimbursement of repair of a motor vehicle is 10 days after the manufacturer mails the last of the owner notices informing owners of a safety defect recall and cost-free remedy. For replacement of equipment, the closing date is either the same as for motor vehicles or 30 days after the manufacturer’s closing of its efforts to provide public notice of the existence of a defect, whichever is later. Documentation of the costs is required for reimbursement. While the current reimbursement policy is a relatively new requirement, manufacturers have in the past often voluntarily agreed to absorb such costs, provided customers could prove the pre-recall repairs remedied the defect in question.

Hmmm, mine is also a DCLB TRD Sport and the recall does not show up for it. Coincidence?

Yeah. They don't have a remedy yet so what if I chose to remedy it myself by ordering new aftermarket leaf packs? Can't really remedy it if I order new Toyota leaf packs since they are the part that's being recalled so no other option but to go with aftermarket.
