Mine is on the list as well for the recall... Funny thing is I just got it back from having the frame replaced lol and brand new leaf packs ... Wonder if I'll get another new set now ?

Since no actual punctured tanks have been reported according to the release, it might be difficult to prove that you got new springs because of safety reasons, unless perhaps it was documented that you had the repair done specifically because of a broken leaf.

Mine is on the recall; if it entails new springs then I'll probably get them, what the heck. If it only entails some anti-corrosion paint and extra retaining bands then no thanks -- I've added helpers whose extra U bolts that do that already.

I wouldn't hold my breath for new springs anytime soon. The recall hasn't even been put completely into place yet, this is just a preliminary announcement. It might be several months to a year or more before dealers get set up for it and you get your letter in the mail.

I wonder how they are going to handle guys like me who had a leaf break and got them fixed on our own dime.

Hmm, anyone think there is a correlation of the steel used in for the frames & the leaf packs?? Idk, just a thought!

My DCLB shows up for this.

So.. Is it likely that I will have to disassemble my custom made AAL to be eligible?

Finally. This was one of my biggest complaints about the truck. Cannot believe toyota let it go this long.

April 2011 mfg. date, not on the list. Still like to know the details if there's something I should keep an eye on.

I had a 80, 85, 96, 13. The 80 4x4 straight axel was a tank, unstoppable. The 85 was slammed, I cut the back of the cab off for a walk thru, 6 15s in the bed. The 96 4x4 was also unstoppable and now my 13 feels like a luxury vehicle compared to the others, the have come a long way!

Not with money or other. Just spring replacement. If you can show a receipt of a broken spring and that's why you switch to a different leaf pack in the past then maybe. If you have different leaveS still ain't going to do sHit or I'll be a monkey's uncle.but hey you never know

I find it odd that late '11s aren't included. I thought the suspension was identical. I know some parts of the truck are different between early 2011s like the gauges, but I just don't understand why the suspension would be different.

What happens if you have an add a leaf for lift? Do just move it to the new leaf packs?
