Hell yea the clickers not only look good but man it's so nice having the ability to fine tune them with 20 different settings! The video on IG I had them set to 3 and it soaked up the little ruts in the road like a dream! We went to Rail-X which was alittle rougher terrain and I set em to 5. Having to go slower through most of the big washouts you could feel the coilovers cycling but in a nice and smooth way. I'm still testing out which settings do best in different terrain, but I was super excited to drive my truck even after riding in Jaime's LT front

What is that skid plate you have that also replaces the black plastic trim under the bottom grill? I really like that.

Bro...nice setup! Suggestion for your Resi's. Go to the hardware store and get some of the black flat rubber baseboard molding and cut some thin strips the width of your clamps holding your resi's. Put it between the clamps and the resi body so the steel clamps won't corrode the aluminum housings on your resi's. Cheap and good easy mod to protect your investment...:D

    For what it's worth...

I personally never had any shock reservoirs show signs of corrosion due to direct contact with clamps on previous trucks.... and I live in a place that sees moist air every day from the ocean (I am less than a minute away from the Pacific). If anything the resi parts that are covered by the clamps end up being in better shape over time as the wear and tear sets in. The key is keeping the clamps nice and tight on the resis to prevent loose chafing due to vibration. Arizona is nowhere near the salt belt either so he should be fine regardless.

Before winter I always spray Fluid Film on the suspension & underbody of my trucks and it's worked nicely.

Right on Matt..:) I have my clamps on tight as well, but I noticed that when I was lubing my suspension and I removed the clamps from the resi's, there were signs of oxidation on the resi surface from where the steel was touching the aluminum. I also live close by the beach as well and have the same conditions as you. My buddy who is a metallurgist mentioned I should place the rubber in there to prevent corrosion over time. Glad to hear you're not having that issue bro>>>:D I've heard fluid film is a great corrosion preventer as well...might go that route since I have salty air...:D

Thanks! I may look into this as my clamps actually moved abit after some wheeling over the weekend :/ I thought they were tight enough but either they weren't or its common for them to move around after some mobbing? :notsure:

The custom stickers Brian made for me at ADS are larger than others so I stuck them over the clamps and noticed they moved

ADS hard anodizes their resis, and they are stainless clamps. Not reactive like regular steel and bare aluminum.

But 3m double thick shrink wrap is a great thing to put on the clamps. I do it on the disco truck builds cause they complain about bare hose clamps

I just went thru all 45 pages of your build and all I can say is WOW!!! What an awesome build and really great info and links to help the rest of us spend some $$$$.

My hat is off to you sir on an extremely clean build. I have had many nice rides in my 50ish years and I am truly impressed.

I wanna be you when I grow up. :D Well done sir!!!

    LOL @ disco trucks. :D

Hey man, if it's about ADS, don't even worry lol. I can talk about ADS all day.

    :D Thank you sir!

Clean, functional, simple, and unique is what I shoot for in any vehicle I start modding. Walking that fine line of balancing ALL 4 of those is the hardest part. Knowing when to stop is also a challenge. With such RIDICULOUSLY huge aftermarket support for 2nd gen Tacomas, it's easy to get lost in it with an empty wallet! Shit, you could even say a lot of the components are a bit overboard on my truck as it sits, but you'll never see anything that isn't functional on it to a degree----no fake hoodscoops here. :)

I have to credit Anthony (DTFtacoma) for being the mastermind behind the bumper/skid setup---that is probably the centerpiece of the truck. That ALWAYS gets the first comment before anything else on the truck. I'm glad he has it available made to order and highly customizable for anyone else now. Thanks again Anthony!

Short story time: I parked the truck on the main strip of the downtown area of my small city. We(me and the lady) walked into the restaurant, and we were seated right at the window---pretty much my whole truck in sight. Anyway, this older gentleman(I'd say in his late 60's) was walking with his wife about to pass my truck on the sidewalk, when he suddenly stopped. He walked around the back, he looked through the driver side window, he walked to the front, scratched his head, walked to the front again, scratched his head, walked to the side---still scratching his head. It was at this time I noticed I totally forgot my wallet in the cup holder so coincidentally I walked to the truck and the gentleman was still there as I opened the door. He says "I've gotta ask, what is this truck??? I've never heard of the "DTF" brand of trucks" :D [clearly he saw my DTF badge on my front grille] I laughingly answered "Oh, it's a Toyota Tacoma. DTF stands for my friend's shop Dezert Toy Fabrication which is who did all the suspension work on it." He replied "OHHHHHH, ok! Well shit man, this truck is one badass machine! I wish I had a truck that was DTF!" I almost lost it and started laughing, but held composure. LMAO

    ;)
