Nope.. i got a DCLB, and i am on the notice. 2008 TRD Sport DCLB...

As it is, i wouldn't mind if the remedy includes better made 4 leaf springs... sure would be nice. Either way, you bet i am taking them in to get changed..

What happened for the 2012 model year that made the leaf springs better/stronger? Is there really any difference at all? Why are '12-'15 trucks not recalled?

I am curious about this as well. It will be interesting to see what Toyota tells all of us with AAL's installed.

What does everyone that is running an aal or some custom cut Chevy leafs planning to do?

I feel these are my options
    1. Remove all my extra leafs and ride in with a horrible saggy ass.
    2. Leave the extra springs in and ask them to remove them and give them back to me.
    3. Leave them in and ask for the old spring assembly so I can remove them at my home.

I don't feel that they would give me my old springs nor do I see them doing any extra work to remove my leafs.

Those were my thoughts on it too. Luckily the dealer near me has been pretty nice to me so I am going to try to see if they will move the extra leafs over for me. I am planning on talking to them tomorrow about it and I will report back

Yea let us know. I also just read a article that pointed out that repairs will only be done depending on the results of inspection. So since I have a camper shell that already make my rear leafs sag it my be best to remove all aftermarket leafs.

What does this mean for those that got the rear TSB done where they added a 4th leaf?

That's just sad that they would even consider that for a truck

Yup...Perhaps you are in a position where your knowledge could have earned you some big cash today...TM dropped $1.13 and was down almost $2.00 at one point...A few well placed options orders could have earned $10K in about 4 hours today...
Heck, If people knew you were right they could have (or did?)
That's why that govt. organization with the same initials as the South East Conference gets real pissy about info ;)

Ok, let's think about this for a moment: Toyota is not saying that they are concerned your springs may break. They are concerned about the secondary safety issue that results.

In other words, the remedy's aim will probably be to keep the broken spring off of the tank, nothing more.

I seriously doubt anyone's getting a new pack. I'm betting it's going to be some type of a simple clamp.

Exactly my thoughts when I read this part of the recall notice:

Only have experienced one "defect becomes recall" like this before with the mid-90s Ford head gasket problems. And they did reimburse those who had already paid to fix it out of warranty, if you had a clear original receipt and then this receipt became the property of Ford. You didn't get it back.

My guess is Toyota is going to take a quick look at all the "highway only" Tacomas like mine in non salty areas. Already with 100K or more on them and determine, "NO this ones fine".

Yea I'm afraid their fix will be cheap. But I'd like to go bitch if I could. But still looks like Dakars are in my future.

Like deezniutz, I had the TSB done on the rear springs a few years back. I wonder what that means in relation to the recall.
