Ever dropped it in the creek or the river taking a picture of a fish? I have.

Ever ran over it with a F350 Box truck? I have.

My lifeproof on my 4S saved my butt more times than I can count.

If you don't want a bulky case that looks good and has a solid amount of protection, go to Incase. I like the way their cases feel and look (very minimalist), but the thing is their cases for the 6 are not out yet (possibly within this next week)

This is kind of what I would worry about. He fishes a lot, mostly from shore. Lifeproof seems like the way to go. He has gone through two rugby phones (ruggedized standard phone). This will be his first smart phone.

Dropped my 4s out of my vest in a creek. Didn't realize it for like 20 minutes. Went back and found it in about 3 feet of water. Totally worth the investment.

I prefer the commuter because it's not so big and bulcky. I dropped my Iphone 5 , 3 times with it and no phone damage.

It's that new case that once you put it on, it makes all the features stop working.

Just got my 6 in from Verizon so much bigger than my 4s and I would happen to be getting out of my truck to get my phone when my phone slipped out of my pocket shattering my iPhone 4S screen seems like perfect timing
