Ironic, I was just looking at what it would cost for me to build a decent desktop that can handle video editing easily... Haha

Yea. You'd want dual 6 core processors and 16+GB ram and a beefy graphics card..or two. And 3-6 TB of storage...or more.

    Not cheap.

    That and a nice monitor.

And the program. Premiere is the way to go plus after effects for final color correction.

My mac chokes and I have dual quad cores and 12 GB of ram

Eh, I feel like one nice 8-core would do well. But I agree with the rest.

No..no it wouldn't. Trust me. Sometimes dual 6s don't cut it.

    I've done it before.

Most good video workstations are 16 core now with dual 8

you inspired me. i went in and started playing around in a project im working on. Started trying to add little touches like lens flares and correcting saturation. only problem is i have no clue what most of the settings and scales do and how they work together, and what looks "good" compared to a non adjusted clip

when i get most of it cut together can I upload it and have u critics suggest which bits could use work? and what settings and scales to change? since its basicially the same principal as cooking your pics

youre right monte, i can cut clips together and take care of the basics but I want it to go to the next level and pop. and with no training whatsoever or anyone to talk to im at a loss

see i can play too :D

Don't know what size files you're attempting to edit and adjust, but I'm pretty sure an at at-home user like myself doing it as a personal hobby doesn't need dual 8-core processors haha

I'm not doing it for video processing such as trying to make it look like all of the GoPro ads. I only plan on using it for vlogs, adventure, and vacation videos.

I'm talking about doing correct video editing. Not mediocre bull shit.

For that you can use a laptop.

For real effects. Good color correction and real hd full size files you couldn't. Well..might..but it would take for ever.

I don't do the...good enough..way though. Not for audio, and it's translates to video for me and photography.

I'll admit I'm no pro photographer but I still like to do the best I can with what I can and have. audio I do the best no matter what. Video I do the same.

    But that's just me.

I know this is a serious aspect of your life as it plays into what you're doing in college, but I wouldn't call it mediocre.

There's a time and a place for professional video editing.

    But that's just me ;)

That's what financing is for! The cost of capital is in the valuation model, if you can make appropriate return... Borrow borrow borrow lol

The other day somebody posted on Facebook that they were mad at their bank for wanting to take them to small claims court instead of him paying his over-drafting fees and such late...

So I was at Popeyes Chicken yesterday and I saw this dude pick up an application to apply for a job. Seems normal but the funny part was he was wearing a "I heart Vegans" shirt, while eating chicken

I'm going to say that working with the general public en mass fucking sucks in general.

I love people, just not large quantities of random people on a daily basis
