Because California, and emissions testing. If the part doesn't have an exempt tag on it, you can't add it to your vehicle here and pass emissions. That's why I like to get a vehicle as right as possible from the factory.

I wasn't seriously suggesting that he do it. Did you see the price associated with it? Totally not worth it (especially considering they have to bring in used motors just to do it).

$30k for a brand new truck, $25k for the conversion... = just buy a different truck to start with. :)

BUT...I sure would love to see someone do it!!

A 4BT Cummins in a Tacoma would seriously awesome, not quick or fast by any means, but you could pull a house off it's foundation should you choose.

Yeah, I think I'd go around pulling houses off of their foundations just because.

Maybe even once a day...just to stay sharp.

Me too dude! Diesel option could be great, but I'd never pay $40k for a Tacoma, so if that ever happens I'm sure it'll be priced out of my desire.

It would be totally useless. You would pull the frame right out from under your truck. You sir have been bitten very hard by the TW bug. Enjoy your truck and all the hot trophy wives your cleaning pools for and leave your truck as is.

I build custom homes in Palo Alto and yes it's a perk of the "silicone" valley.

If I were still a single guy and in my twenties I'd almost do the work for free ;) but for every milf, there are 10-20 not so milf's.
