I take a $2000 rifle with a $2500 optic and throw it in a plastic 55gallon drum while running away. (3Gun match reference if you're not tracking).

They are tools meant to be used. Your truck cost 10 times what a top of the line AR costs and I'm sure you don't keep it in the garage 24/7 for fear of dings or scratches

Because even with a rattle can you can get great results and change your pattern as needed. My guns are my tools of the trade...competitions, instructing, etc. They're made to be used and I use them hard. Same reason I paint my sliders, bumpers, and skid plates on my truck with a rattle can...they get used and I can touch them up whenever I need. I'll rattle can an $8k AI or a $3k SCAR...it's all the same to me.

Anyone have a good sources for a BCG? I'm looking for a black nitride or melonite one if at all possible. Something that is reasonable price would be awesome.

There's a member here who works for Ironworks Tactical, they have some good stuff. Other than that, I'm looking at Primary Arms also. They are selling melonite Radical Arms BCGs for $100.

Once you go supressed, you never want to go back. I got a .308 can that I use on everything I have except my AK (I don't want to spend $200 to thread the barrel on a $350 gun.

I'm working on figuring out a way to buy a can from the shop I'm working at. I'm thinking a .22 can, a .308 can, and possibly a .458 can with 5/8-24 threads for sure in my .458 socom

If you ever wanted to try out the 458 Socom round here is your cheapest way to do so. Made by the man who made the first ones so they are done right with the correct reamer. ( Some use a reversed engineered reamer and those folks have issues.) The price doesn't get any cheaper than this for a complete 458 SC upper. I have no affiliation with the maker, just passing on a good deal for my fellow Tacoma brothers.

Now that is a great way to get into the .458 socom game. Easier than building it and cheaper too
