My 2011 TRD sport has an outside temperature gauge...your 2014 TRD sport doesn't?

I have a 15 and no outside temp gauge, if it displays on the stereo I haven't found a way to see it. It has the weather app, but it shows weather from a town about 100 miles away from my location.

Per my 5-lug, the only things I'm not happy about are the lack of power options(I have pwr. steering), no cruise control or intermittent wipers, almost zero available mods, & and that god-awful bench seat. Otherwise, it's a bad ass little goer... Nothing serious enough to make me want to buy another brand.

I do not like all the wind noise around the doors of my Tacoma at 60 mph and above. My 2008 4x4 Tundra with 148,000 miles on it has less wind noise.

I dont like how you have to have keys on to power the 12 volt power outlet, any other brand I can leave my phone plugged in and have it charge while not in the truck, the toyota wants the keys to be on in order to power the 12 volt plugs, I understand that it could drain battery but Ive never had that problem before on the many chevys that ive owned, unless im missing something

That's one thing time and time again that cracks me up ... people buy a $25,000+ vehicle and know next to shit what they're buying regarding anything beneath the sheet metal.

Rear drums do suck.... Does the Tacoam have 2 stage paint I was under the impression from talking the body shop about having my running board brackets painted Toyota used a single stage paint with clear coat built in.

what i really don't like about tacomas is no longer having one. i traded out my beat up reg cab on a reg cab ford, while the ford is good it is just to large dimensionally for me with too little ground clearance.

Two piece drive shaft, lack of certain gauges(i.e. oil pressure/amps, trucks should all have full gauges), and the fact the the 4.0l makes the least amount of power compared to just about every other current model DOHC V6. They better remedy a few things if they are gonna keep up with the new twins from GM. Love my Taco to death, but Toyota needs to stop riding on the fact that they're"Toyota".

I obviously haven't read all 1200 posts so I'm sure I'm duplicating others' opinions. Also, I don't actually have a Tacoma, yet. Ordered it in late August. I should hopefully take delivery no later than a couple weeks from now, though. With that being said, I wish Toyota offered a:
    -Sunroof
    -Factory HID headlights
    -Factory projector headlights.

    1. Cheap interior.
    2. Slipping build quality (clicking cabin fan noise for which there is no solution whatsoever, rattling door speakers, squeaky window/door seals)...on a truck thats 7 months old.
    3. poor power/mpg out of the motor. It is rock solid reliable, though, but needs to catch up to the times.
    4. absolute terrible sport seats. power seats ought to be an option, especially if toyota is gonna charge a premium for the privilege of driving a taco.

I like my truck. I don't love it like I loved my 2004 TRD OR. I'll definitely ditch this one if I PCS to da Islands, like I'm hoping.

Now the wifeys new 4Runner? Yea. I'm in love with that beast.

Toyota has rested on its laurels long enough; they need to get back to what made tacos great trucks: reliable, well built trucks.

They're still reliable, but the fit and finish on the 31,000ish Taco I just bought is worse than the FF on the 20,000 dollar truck I bought used in 2005. Significantly worse.

Stop cheaping out, get over the love affair with hard plastic and make it quiet inside, with well thought out ergo's. Lastly, put the insides together so they don't shake themselves apart in less than a year.

I've owned my 2nd Taco now for about 1 year, a 4cyl 5pd AC. Here are my complaints:

    1) A bit underpowered. Were I to buy another, I'd be tempted to go for the 6 cylinder. A 200hp option might be sufficient and still clear 20mpg most fill ups. I wish the 6 cyl/6 speed had better mileage.
    2) Am disappointed the 'Convenience package' didn't come with Outside Temp, Compass, and Interval wipers. I did negotiate for the for the intervals, which are plug n play and threaded my own outside temp gauge
    3) The location of the Cruise control knob/stick is horrible. I'm 6'3" and I have to set the steering wheel higher than I prefer in order to keep from banging it. I'm pretty convinced one day I'll break it off when I forget to turn the wheel to the left before exiting
    4) No stake pockets in the bed rails. I do like the composite bed, but want it all. Some rack systems use the pockets, and would be more convenient to have them.
    5) Mice seem to gain access to the cabin air filter. I had to install a coarse screen.

All that said, I like the size, looks and look forward to years of outstanding reliability. I have no issues with the ride and handling. It is, after all, a truck and not a sports car. I like that, after about 8K miles, I've had only 1 fill up where I got less than 20mpg (carrying a canoe on my racks). The seats are more comfortable than those of our Subaru Outback (which is feint praise indeed).

-The composite bed will hold up a lot longer than rhino liner over metal.

-You have to have the truck on to run power to the AC outlet in the bed, its an inverter. You are expecting to run 120V AC off a battery? Good luck with that

    1) the way the clutch pedal meets the master cylinder is a retarded design........Its cheap and of lesser quality than the 1st Gen clutch design.....I have no clue why it is setup the way it is...And what happened to using steel for a clutch pedal? Toyota is starting to phase-in or "sneak in" these cheaper composite parts.......While.........the price of the truck only INCREASES! Which I find to be b.s..Reduce the price..or give me friggin steel and aluminum...Dont sneak in cheaper injection molded parts thinking nobody will notice....

2)The oem failing mexican LuK brand clutch versus Aisin. Mine failed....

    3) Mine shifts rough...maybe it's just mine, but the transmission can "clunk" and sounds like a hydrostatic lawn mower when in first/second gear. I wish it shifted smoother.

    4) Reverse has always been "Hoppy" and feels like it's geared kinda high.

    5) Available colors. There are only a few....why not more?..I'd like to see Actual RED as a color again, like the 2008 Red and not this maroon "red". I think Toyota builds more white trucks than anyone on the planet. If I had $3000 lying around I would consider custom paint just to have the color I actually want.

This, and the TOB bull shit.

fyi, urd short shifter solves the sloppy binding shifting. and someone on TW sells an upgraded shifter that has better bushings.
