Any Waterfowl Hunters?

Yep started Monday I live next to a state wild life management area just got to love being awaken to gun fire at dawn, not!

 

Counting down the days. I know it's getting close, Keith Stone says so

 

I need to get a case of those just for kicks, where did you snag them? Also need to buy a set of waders soon with the season nearing

Get the cabelas dry plus breathable waders. They are perfect for the warm climate around here. I get 5-6 seasons out of them. Great waders. If it gets cold throw on some wader pants.

 

I been holding off on buying a set because I'm to cheap and I just spent a bunch on my LT kit. I was looking on ebay and they have a bunch on Duck Commander 5mm breathable chest waders new for about $130 do you know anything about those?

 

I don't know much about em but $130 is close to what you'd pay for the good shit.
Neoprene sucks in the imperial valley, Wister is full of cut salt cedars that are really tough on the neo waders too, puncture are really common. The first month of the season it's too hot. still over 100 on opener some years.

 

Watch those Duck Commander Waders. I read a bunch of comments on them and they all had issues with the Long Inseam and A lot of people said they leaked. I just bought a pair of the KOBUKS and had them out for the early Teal season here in New Mexico. I was really impressed with them. One of them better pair of waders I have used and I have been Waterfowl Hunting since 97.

 

I won't be getting out much with school and work and last season the majority of our hunting was jump shooting, we only got out 4 times last season and I knocked 1 Drake Widgeon during those times out. My buddies bought a pair from Bass Pro that cost them $150 that were Red Head brand and they said they were hot as hell walking in. We plan on setting up some spreads this season since we bought some decoys but were all new waterfowl hunters some I'm not trying to spend the big bucks yet. Want to keep it under $150 after tax and shipping

 

CDSurfphotography check AMAZON or EBAY. I bought my KOBUK Waders from AMAZON but they were also on Ebay and I paid $139.00. They are 4 Mil Neoprene with Titanium and 1000 Gram Thinsulate Boots. They have a Heavy Duty Knee Patch that goes to the top of the boot.

 

Montana waterfowl opener is tomorrow! Haven't killed a lot up here in the past two years but I'm hoping to change all that this year with basically a whole new bag of decoys, a mojo and some scouting here recently. It's a heck of a lot different than back home in Iowa, ha!

There were GWT everywhere! Sitting in the kayak in the marsh grass, they were swing barely 3 feet above my head before shooting hours, it was crazy. Buttt....who's gonna shoot teal if they can whack nothing but big ducks?
Going back out tomorrow with three or four people, so hopefully it's gonna be a big teal swat.

 

How do y'all repair small rips in waterproof jackets?
My herters jacket got a small rip in it and i need to repair it somehow, but i'm not sure what the best way to do it is.

 

Just picked up a pair of Kobuk 4mm Titanium Advantage Wetlands Camo Neoprene for $129 hope this season is good to me. Anyone recommend any places to purchase steel, Im only shooting 2 3/4 so its a little harder to find at the stores locally unless I go to a Bass Pro Shop

 

Went out yesterday in central MO and it was a shoveler fest. We did bag a couple pintails though. Have a guided hunt at a club next week...hope the ducks are still here. We're in the middle of freezeup.

 

I'm gonna be PISSED if I have to get out the sledge already.

Usually more than half of what we bag in the season will be spoonies. Not the best smelling nor eating but boy they sure are dudumbseason opens up this weekend for us so hopefully it starts off right

 

I am so sick of them I won't even shoot unless I mistakenly think it's a Gaddy or something.

 

Lol that's the sad part. Not shooting them means more that survive
we will shoot them if it is a slow day but if the morning is right and the birds are flying from the break of dawn we will hold off on them
