She was actually my ex wife, keep guessing brah lol. She did get a screaming deal. I bought her a 2012 SLE 4x4 for 33 K and that was just a model clearout. I don't see how you can't wrap your brain around that. Seriously how much did you pay for your FJ or your 4Runner, I bet the number is scary high.

A person could get a similar deal as my ex did by waiting till the dealership had a sales lull or if they bought a truck right at the bitter end of a year end clearout. All the numbers I've given are still above dealer invoicing after volume and GM discounting.

When I was 16 I had a GFX edition Sierra for a few years as my first ride. It was definitely a hot truck but looking back on things it was way over the top lol.

Can Tacoma survive the 2015 Chevy Colorado and 2016 Nissan Frontier?

The bigger question is can we survive another post in a thread thats now so far removed from anything Tacoma related ..... :notsure:

No worries, officially unsub'd carry on...;)

Except by "robbing space" they've created a relaxed slanted seating position similar to a car instead of a straight-back chair position in the Frontier (and to some degree a DC taco).

I like that change. Looks comfortable for the passengers

Just as the Colorado ramps up its launch, Toyota issues a major recall on the Tacoma for the leafs..not good for the Tacoma image.

Poor timing. These springs should of been fixed years ago when people first had issues with them flattening out. Flat or negative arch springs snap, it's a not a hard concept to understand.

Makes me really want to change out my rear spring for expo's.

Does not inspire me to convert to a chevy, however I can certainly see the Camaro folks switching it up a little. For the younger crowd I see a little bumblebee deja vu appearance wise.

Competition is a positive, let's look at how much incentives there are currently for the Tacomas vs the rest of the fleet.

Won't be long before we see some tweaks in looks as well along with some attention to interior upgrade. If there is one thing that really stands out on a Chevy car/truck is how comfortable the seats are.

Some additional comfy attention to the seats would be outstanding and make it that much more enjoyable to drive in the Tacoma.

The seats on the GM fullsizes are very comfy, hopefully they applied some of the same tech in the twins. The Last gen Colorado had some of the worst seats ever, my Tacoma seats where a welcome upgrade when I traded my Rado in.

Fugly! And it'll get the Chevy cancer at four years of age when everything starts breaking.

    Autoblog's First Drive.

Looks good. Blows the Tacoma out of the water on refinement, electronics, and interior quality.

This looks like an excellent Tacoma alternative for those of us who are primarily road-going (which is most of us here, though you might not like to admit it :p )

I like how he guesses the diesel will be AMAZING... The diesels will likely be slower feeling in a pinch but also feel like you're actually doing something when you have some weight on the truck. I'm curious to see how neutered the small diesels will feel in these trucks. My buddies with Ecodiesels in the Dodges haven't be ubber impressed with the power yet and I have a feeling the tiny GM engine will feel a similar way.

I do like the refinements on this truck but at the end of the day I think they did exactly what's happened to the Silverado. They made the truck city friendly at the expense of the things that have historically made a truck good at working in Agriculture, Oil Field, and Construction. We'll see if they hold up as poorly as some of the new GM's are in heavy duty use situations.

But like you said, this would make a great commuter with capability to go places you can't in a MILF wagon.

Would be nice if the front air damn was easily removable too for extra approach angle. I wonder what the angle numbers look like with it off?

You'll be impressed until you own one, specs and stats look great but let's see how it does the real world. The twins could end up being like that hot girl who doesn't perform well in the bedroom.
