Looking at the above; He had b-pillar damage; that's about $2k alone as they'll disassemble alot to put in a new one and tie it into the frame rail below the doors. (source.. my daughters corolla had moderate damage to two doors and the B-pillar, and the total was $6k.)

The OP has likely damage to B-Pillar and likely A and C too which will drive up the price. My original guess for the OP is up to about $14,000-$15,000. But it's worth well over $30k new.... Like I suggested, unless you really KNOW the shop owner, stay with the Toyota/Lexus so there won't be any warranty gripes.
FWIW, my daughters car ran like knew with absolutely no problems after fixing.

I doubt they will give me a new car but the body of the whole driver side needs to be replaced.

Glad you are OK. I would have it fixed and keep it. You said it saved your life so it would be like losing a great friend to get rid of it.

True but if I wanted to sell it I wouldn't be able to if the record it would be in the system. I dont want to get rid of it. i love this car :( But them spending 15-20k to fix a 30k car seems ridiculous.

If not already mentioned please be sure to review and insist on diminished value from your insurance Co if they want to fix it ....

It's not going to be scapped, that's for sure. If you can get them to total it you may still see it drive by in 6 months because a body shop is going to buy it from the insurance company and fix it up. They might even tell the next owner what happened to it (never buy a used car from a body shop). I don't know what it's like in the US but here they would take the sale of the wreck into account and that would definitely make it a total for the insurance company if it's over 1/3 the value to fix it. It being so new, you should check if you had replacement cost coverage for the first year, your company should make up the difference if you do or they will go after the other company.

I would be worried about the cab, not getting the doors to line up. girl at work got hit by a lowes truck, they fixed truck and paided for depreciation since it has a salvage title

That's because you're stuck with ICBC, the government can be counted on to throw good money after bad at every opportunity. I'm in Nova Scotia.
