    just curious, I think a few of you guys mount your GP's on your trucks when you guys go wheeling. did anyone ever have any issues with cracked cases from rocks/branches/etc.? that would be the only reason I'd buy the "budget" Hero4 for $129.99 vs. mounting a $499 Hero4 outside.

    They're pretty durable, I took mine offroad and had rocks and mud flying at it mounted behind my rear wheel well. No problems just clean it off after.

    Mine is good so far. Had another guy on here ran over his go pro camera the case broke but the camera still working.

    One of mine was used for chassis video and the case had a few scratches. The case lens also got chipped once, but those are easy to replace and it was like $8 for two lenses.

    I work in the film industry and we use GoPro's sometimes for stunt shots. For one shot we mounted a GoPro on top of an armored van. We had explosives mounted underneath the van to flip it over as it was driving. The van flipped over and landed on the roof on the GoPro. GoPro was fine with some scratches. Throughout the shoot we actually purposely mounted gopros in harms way only to find them with scratches. There was one time we velcroed one to a car to be hit by another car. Mind you, this time it was without the housing. GoPro was fine. Un-fucken-believable!
