That style would be nice for use on my lake. I tried out one this past weekend and really liked it. A little slow compared to my current boat, but I like the open cockpit. Would probably do well kayak camping too.

Cool thanks guys! We will probably go for a drive through some of the mountains.. Hadn't thought of the Yankee candle factory. She'd probably be into that haha and I would go to the casino but I'm already broke so I don't really want to get more broke.

Finally got the vacation pictures off of my phone and onto the computer. Here's a couple of the better ones.
    Longest sunrise ever heading west.

We picked up our rental car in a suburb North of Seattle (because it was half the price of picking it up at SeaTac!) and headed into the Cascades for the first few days of the trip.

Then we looped back across the mountains and onto the islands for a couple days
    [IMG]

Took the Ferry back to the mainland to drop the car off
    [IMG]

Then the last three days were spent in Seattle.

We could see the Space Needle from our hotel!

Then we took the Red-Eye back, got rerouted, delayed, rerouted and delayed again, and finally got home after nearly 24 hours of travel time. Ugh.

Sweet! Hopefully you get as lucky with the weather as we did; we only had one day of rain, and even that was just a spotty drizzle. Not sure where you're headed, but the Cascades are amazing if you get the chance to get out there.

It was pretty sweet. The flight back sucked monkey balls (our flights got screwed up because of that mess at O'Hare last week). Idiot airlines can't get their shit together within four days of an issue, apparently.

But the rest of the trip was awesome. First real actual vacation I've been on in 10+ years; since the summer I graduated from High School. Well worth the wait, but the next one's going to be sooner, haha! Cassie wants to go tropical, but I'm thinking the Rockies; Colorado or Wyoming. We'll see.

Gotcha. I've got an older version of the Old Town Predator that weighs about that much. It's the old sit-in rather than the newer sit-on design, so it's a little lighter than the new ones. But it does still take me two trips, one for the Kayak and then one for the paddle, vest, fishing pole, and tacklebox.

I resemble that remark. Still on West Coast time. Feels like I've been waking up at 2:00 the last couple of days.

It actually was pretty cool, so far as cities go. It was surprisingly clean, and the people were pretty pleasant. Lots of panhandlers, though. Probably due to the mild climate, at a guess.
Great coffee, though. The worst cup of coffee I had the whole time I was out there was from Starbucks, and it was better than most of the stuff you find out here.
Also had the best salmon I've ever tasted while we were out there; Sockeye that had been swimming that morning grilled over mesquite charcoal.

There's tons of microbreweries and wineries out there, too. Seemed like every time we came around a bend in the road there was another one, especially in the Woodinville area.

    Yeah...
I'm sitting here in the office drinking shitty Folger's Red Bucket coffee and reminiscing fondly about the Blue Star Americano Espresso that I was drinking out West.
And weeping into my cup. The salt helps cut the bitterness...:(
