Just wondering what original ideas and different ideas on costumes some of the TW guys and gals seem to come up with.

I made a Lego costume a few years ago that was a big hit and it broke my budget of $30( not sure why i had this number for a budget) that i wanted to stay within. at a whopping (sarcasm) $33 this is what i came up with.

i have my costume for this year but i need to get started making it here soon and will post it later. within the past few years i started getting into a little more fun ideas for the creative holiday

i dont care if it was expensive or cheap but if you were proud of it or it got a lot of attention go ahead and show it off here

A party we did a couple years ago. We've done a bunch of these and they usually take at least a month to put together. This one we started at the beginning of September. We have between 20-30 people that put in time getting this done. The theme for this one was Toon Town part 2. We did Toon Town about ten years prior.

One year in college, some friends were were itching for a Halloween type party in February for some reason. So I threw a Robot themed party. These are the only pictures I have of my robot costume.

I make my son's costume's every year. He wanted to be Spongebob one year and the costume's at the store looked like crap so I bought a sewing machine and decided how hard could it be. I've gotten better over the last few years and this is what I've made.

Spongebob is a few years old and pretty worn out now. He played with it a lot.

Next was a Dunkin Donuts Munchkins outfit. Also the year I added embroidery to the costume's. Costume's started getting expensive this year not to mention the learning curve increased substantially.

Ice Cream truck. This is the year sound got introduced to the costume's. It plays the ice cream truck song on a mp3 player inside the costume.

Last year he wanted to be an ambulance. Since I had already done sound it was time for sound and lights. I didn't sync the lights for the picture but they alternate when synced right. The mp3 player played a siren and a dispatch from the Emergency tv series.

This year he is going to be Bee-Do from Despicable Me. This will be my first time making a costume out of foam.

Wow, you folks got talent! I could never afford to get that much into it. I used to dress up like a cowboy, which wasn't hard, considering that was how I dressed half the time. Last year I just wore a hard hat and my nail bag from work. My favorite costume of all time though was when I dressed up like a confederate soldier. Black boots, gray pants and shell jacket that both had yellow piping, white shirt, suspenders, black belt, and my gray kepi hat. I still have that kepi.

    Thx!

If you can see well on the close up of the mask , these were all layers of latex pieces. From cheekbone and top jaw to lower jaw was the biggest layer which i made ahead of time. Took me a week to do who knows how many layers of liquid latex over the clay shape wolf mouth.

Eyebrows and canines were made from (YouTube) glycerin ,gelatin and water. heat on the microwave.

    What you waitng for

When you apply on my face i did about 10 coats blow dry it every 5 mins do the same steps until you feel its sturdy enough, sticks pretty well even with lots of sweat from talking and breathing and scaring teens lol

My priority was to be able to move the jaw open and close no problem.

If you want to add extra strength on the mask you always use the glycerin and gelatin left over if you happen to use this, it hardens like clue sticks.

I still have to have the pieces and they all holding up pretty well after 2 years storage.

    Another Tip

If you dont want go with all the hassel of creating one, you can always go to the a cheap halloween place or a 99 cent store and buy the mask and cut out the jaw and eyebrow pieces and make it your own by adding liquid latex, modding it to your face.
Once done remove it with baby powder slowy appling on the edges.

for the canines i used glue and toilet paper lol worked pretty well as long you shape them right.

I've done this with a last minute costume for a party. my GF at the time was little red ridinghood and of course needed to be a wolf and so i search around and couldnt fine a nice mask, i came across a monkey mask at the 99 cent store and i cut out the jaw and eyebrows and used some of the hair for the face.
Once all cut out pieces i started to apply with liquid latex into my face until the edges of the monkey mask where no longer visible.

Not bad for $4 dollar mask :)

I torn up some old granma looking clothes and putting on with one small taped pillow on my top back (looking like a football player linebacker :D) 2 tiny pilows upfront with enough tape in all the right spots it all came out better than i thought :)
