I've thought about the struts, don't know why I keep putting them off. I've never looked at Pinterest, but my DIL finds all kinds of cool, and often very functional, ideas from there.

Hey Rob, did you check if the leaf spring recall applies to your VIN? It does to mine.

I'll check in the morning. Thanks for the link:D
    P.S. It is a 4X4 as well.

Another day another half dollar, inflation's a bitch.

Trying to talk myself out of buying things, work is dragging a little after some excitement and my eyes are wandering onto smith and wesson's website as well as barnett's website.

Not that I have money to spend on such things so it's kind of moot.

I actually cut my credit cards up yesterday. That shit is evil.

Yeah I'm in kind of deep but nothing I can't get out of in a year or less if I'm disciplined. Not that it's an excuse but I'm much better off than most of my friends my age (28) who still have school debt on top of lots of CC debt. I got my school debt paid off a few years after I graduated.

It was just surprising at how fast it all built up and the piddly crap I spent on. But, I'll never make this mistake again so overall a good lesson to learn and in the end, not super expensive.

I know some friends with over 20k in credit card debt when they're only bringing in 35-40k/year and the cost of living out here is not cheap anymore! One-bedroom apartments have soared up in rent in the last year and now average about $650-700 for a shit hole in a bad neighborhood to $1250 for a nice one in a nice area of town with a garage. A studio with an attached garage I used to rent in a good area for $715/mo back 4 years ago is now $1,050/mo.

Now we just have to wait and hope for a meaningful (new spring pack) remedy. I hope it goes that direction. I've beenseriously thinking about putting in a Dakar pack in the Spring. But if they give me a new pack, I've got other places I can use that money, or just save it. I've been getting by with my crappy non-TSB 3 pack with airbags.

IMHO Your generation got set up by the credit card industry. They practically give the damn things away nowadays. When my wife and I got married, I was a new Airman (Air Force enlisted), it took us a few years before we qualified for a major credit card. We started with taking high interest signature loans for no reason but to establish credit. That was followed by a store (JC Penny IIRC) card, and eventually we qualified for a Mastercard. Because of that process to get it, we never used it casually. Nowadays, the new airmen, like I was, join the club on base and their club card is a Mastercard they can use any where. What's that line, "It's a TRAP!" Perpertrated by corporations making billions off the credit industry. :(

Hell back in '05, '06, and '07 when i was in college the first time they were giving cards with $2,500 limits to college students that didn't even have a job! How the hell does that work?

I knew a lot of kids who maxed those out and then played the 0% balance transfer game.

I resisted for awhile and was good for awhile and then last year it all went sideways when I got laid off for a few months and went through a holiday season. I also made the mistake of switching to the credit cards for everyday things with the idea that they offered better identity protections than my debit card and I'd just pay off the balance every month. That worked for a while until it didn't and yeah, poof!

Fuck that shit. Debt is a ball and chain. I want to pay it off, get into school after that, work for a year while in school, graduate, pay off the loans asap, buy a house and pay that off by the time I'm 47 or 55 if there's 40+ acres of land involved. Of course it'll be harder and more complicated then that.

And the full text which I also like and seems relevant to the times now...
