Dude... that's the worst rust I've ever seen on a frame here.

You should not be driven on that at all.

Not sure I agree 100%, if you can fab up your own frame (cut out that stuff), spring mounts, and everything else AFTER you find some rust free parts of the frame then go for it.

But if you want to keep it a Tacoma and not a buggy then yeah I agree haha.
Yep, or a speedbump, or a turn, or nothing at all haha

EDIT would that still be covered by the Frame Warranty?

a friend of my dad's is a fabricator so hopefully he has good news on fixing it but if not. how much would a new frame cost? i hope it would be fixed on toyota's part its to nice of a truck to scrap or i would of dropped it off at a junkyard by now

LOL. Of course we are. But slowing the rate of collapse is only part of it.
Considering he lives in San Diego and appears to be building his truck for desert fun, the cage as it sits is a weapon. The dead tubes themselves scare the hell out of me (aside from the unsupported bends and everything else that's been mentioned). Regardless of how good the cage is...with this design the cab is all still bolted to the frame with factory rubber isolator mounts except hundreds of pounds heavier. In a high speed roll, the cage will likely punch through the floor or even the cab go flying. There's a big difference between flopping at 2 mph and rolling at 50 mph.
In all honesty it wouldn't take much to make it a decent prerunning cage. If the tubes are ran to plates (3/8"-1/4") and the plates welded or bolted to the floor, he could just sandwich the cab with a plate on the bottom of the cab and run a pontoon setup to the frame. Add some triangulation, tube corner gussets, and solid mount the cab to the cage. Won't fix the a-pillar, but it will be a hell of lot better than what it is now.

Edit: Nevermind. Just saw it was 4130. Unless it's normalized...scrap it and start over.

    More or less

Quick stop by advanced auto parts. They used a diagnostic scanner.

Nope, didn't bottom out. I have kept a close eye on that. Even loaded for a three week hunting trip and rough road, never once bottomed out. At the closest point I still had another inch of up-travel.
However, I have shorter length springs than Madjik so that may be a factor.

Not all scanners are created equally. Only way I've been able to successfully read/clear Toyota ABS codes is with the TIS Techstream software.

    Could it be your exhaust?
My hanger recently broke, maybe something like that happened?

Uh all of this. Please take it to Toyota and see if you can still get it under the warranty. That frame is terrifying.

Pffft. MacGyver would have that frame Road Warrior ready with those old style silver chewing gum wrappers, duct tape, a large paperclip, and Elmer's glue. Hell, toss in a bottle cap and a yard stick and he'd make it a full blown rock crawler.

Now, the Professor from Gilligan's Island on the other hand - that hack couldn't make a raft out of tree trunks so if it were his frame then yeah, up feces creek without a propulsion stick.

Oh I knew the mistake I made, but by the time I realized it, it was way too late.

With a 2000 they won't give you a new frame. They will buy your truck back at 150% of blue book value and send it off to the crusher.
