Is there a quick and easy way to disconnect it without removing it when you want to go off road? Like the new KDSS stuff on the 4runners?

No room for it when disconnected. People have said they were going to try disconnects but I have never seen anyone do it.

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
if that's the case, they could do the same thing w/ different tires, any suspension components, TPMS sensors (if due to a blowout), etc etc...

Yes, which I believe they can also do. Was hoping someone had experience or worked in insurance.

I might agree, but all they have to do is read the specs to know it has a sway bar. I'd agree that most people are oblivious, but insurance is for profit and they pay people to investigate claims so not sure I'd agree wholly.

Well that's not a Tacoma, but Ill play....

So like I said ....when the sway bar is disconnected whats to stop it from bashing that dudes CV's besides a nut ?

I especially like the comments on it:

"I run mine dissconnected all the time now and on the blacktop there is no noise unless you hit a speedhump or pot hole at a high speed."

so the sway bar doesn't start hitting stuff and making noise unless you hit a bump...hmm...wonder what happens when you're off blacktop and only hitting bumps?

i'm sure its annoying to listening to, and it's not an actual disconnect, BUT with a little engineering(a.k.a. noise reduction) it could be a great option. Just thought i'd make others yourself included aware you can have your cake and eat it too. It might not taste good though

It looks like a much better design than I have seen others come up with where they just disconnected it and it flopped around, but I would agree it needs fine tuning. Maybe some poly at the end so when it strikes it's not metal/metal contact :notsure:

Doesn't it lean out of the turn with it gone?

The sway bar is there to help eliminate body roll in corners.

Took mine off today and love it. I have 885 coils so it's still pretty solid around the corners. On uneven and washboard roads it's feels much better. Going in and out large angled driveways at speed is muuuuch better. Feels like it bottoms out on deep pot holes easier though now with a large bang.. Guess I need better bump stops.

The sway bar works great as a clothes hanger. I use it the garage for all my hunting clothes that my wife leaves no room for in the closet.
Really not sure what other purpose it is supposed to serve

Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
Cool. Mines off. Didn't die on the freeway the other day with idiot drivers, so I am not afraid. Also, wife didn't kill us or roll the truck driving home tonight, and didn't even notice a difference.

I was always taught to hit the animal. Not worth the risk to try and avoid it, especially at that speed.
