Just threw a set of their EZ550's on my '14 4x4 Access cab. Found them on Amazon for less than $50, and read a few good reviews, so I figured I'd try them. I had to modify the rear clamp plates(on the hellwigs, not the truck), so I could install them exactly where I wanted them. They will raise the truck a little, but it all depends on how much u tighten the rear clamps. I haven't loaded the truck yet, but unloaded, I like the way it rides. To me, its a little more firm, the way a truck should be. IMO, the main thing is to properly torque down the front clamps, so that the helper springs stay in place.

I have been running the Hellwig 1500 helpers on my 2013 and am very impressed with the way they level the load. Also when unloaded the truck handles like my 3/4 ton Suburban. Holds the road better like a performance suspension and corners like a champ even with my cab over camper on it. Best money I have spent on my Taco.

I have 40+#'s of tools plus a snugtop camper and the helpers really didn't do much. No change in ride height but almost no help with any more weight. I ended up upgrading to 3leaf springs and airbags. Haven't loaded up yet but I really didn't feel the helpers were worth the 40 or 50 dollars I paid for them.

The Hellwig helpers that I put on my Taco are model 1518 they are rated at 1500 lbs not the 550 model. Nearly three times the money but I guess you get what you pay for. The kit I installed has 4 double spring parts. They install both I front of the axel and the rear. Perhaps that is the difference. The 550's are rated for 500 lbs where the the 1518 model is rated for 1500 lbs. sorry for the confusion.

I have had the Hellwig 990's (one piece) on for about 60,000 miles, and they are a tremendous help with heavy loads. When my wife and I were building our patio, I accidentally loaded the bed with a little over 1500 lbs of brick. I never hit the bumpstops the entire 25 mile drive home. I love being to load it down with treated 4x4s without worrying.
