So I have my check engine light on, it idles weird, like its about to di but doesn't. I get home turn it off, turn it on and nothing. It cranks and runs and then dies with the key. Remote start turns it on and it stays on after I put the key in. Any ideas????

Had a diagnostic done and it came up with a P0102 - mass or volume air flow circuit fault -low input. Probably cause: open circuit condition. short to ground. maf/vaf sensor failure. OR faulty ecm.

I blew a fuse the other night and started checking them. I thought maybe that's what it might be but I double checked all fuses and they're all in there tight. I noticed my dome lights won't work either. I took off the overhead console to check the connection and one of the 2 wires in the small harness for the lights was pulled out. But I know that wouldn't cause problems with the MAF sensor...right?

I don't know what else to check or do other than to take it into a shop tomorrow.

Maf sensor might be difficult to check without a computer plugged in. Do you have a scan gauge or OBD2 device that will read airflow, maybe compare to someone else's readings at idle. It might give a clue.

I think the dome light issue is unrelated.

Do you have a cold air intake, or oiled filter like a K&N?

Yeah. I have an oiled K&N filter that I put in last month but no CAI. When I drove it, I floored it and the engine revved up but no power behind it. I don't have a scan gauge or OBD2 device

Wow...so I feel like a HUGE idiot. Turns out when I was checking fuses the other day I put the fuse to the EFI2 in the wrong slot. So....go ahead, bring on the jokes, lol. Just glad I figured it out and it's fixed. Just checked the fuse diagram on the lid to make sure I didn't put any fuses in the wrong spots and sure enough, I did. Glad I thought to think of that. Just FYI, if anyone else does it you'll have codes P0102 and P0057, no top end power, and it'll smell like your exhaust is burning.

Too many to list. See build page. Link in signature
haha yah i was just gonna say youd be surprised what 1 fuse can do. An EFI or IGN fuse can cause a plethora of stange and unexplainable problems. Glad you found it though

Using a test light instead of pulling fuses is a better method however not foolproof.

I have seen a "slightly" burned out fuse which checked out good with a test light but with a volt meter showed enough voltage drop to cause a power sunroof not to operate.

I'll have to look into getting one. Seems a lot easier than pulling them one at a time and accidentally putting one back in the wrong spot and causing the check engine light to come and have no power and won't stay started, lol. Thanks for the tip.
