Two mods completed today. The first one was determined by the second. Tough decision but ultimately, I like it.

That looks 100% better black. :p Think maybe some pocket flares might help the amount your wheels stickout unless you're going for that. You've got a clean look to your rig so maybe color matched flares would look sweet!

I just put the same snorkel on my Tacoma, why did you route the intake from the corner like that instead of where it was routed?

I did have a hell of a time getting that 45 degree elbow into the stock hole, but once in the install was easy.

Form and function. I now have a shorter run to the intake. Better performance? Less resistance? Mainly wanted to gain some additional engine bay real estate. This is basically a hybrid mod of what the "different approach to a snorkel" routing is. They go into the blower motor intake area routing the hose back towards the firewall. Like the idea. Just adapted it to my install.

Will be swapping out plastic for aluminum pipe though. Look in the for sale thread for the airflow in Benbacher/ Alaska overland vendor section. I touch on my pipe theory.

    I know Clifton Slay.

This pic is from a sponsored run I did with him for 4Wheeler TV at Proving Grounds in Moab. He did an amazing job recovering my TJ without adding more damage after this roll.

Once I had my fender off, I saw the bracket that a couple people had to modify to get it to fit properly. At that point, the wheels started to turn. Walked away from the project and worked on another area of the truck. Decided to cut the bracket or and look at my options again. The snorkel comes right to a point in the fender area that lines up just in front of the firewall. Grabbed the 105mm/ 4-1/8" hole saw and lined it up. Yep perfect fit.

Checked the area to see of I would clear the abs pump. Check. Inverted the stock intake hose. Yep that works to if I cut the water trap off.

One of those ah ha moments when you think to yourself, this is how it should have been done from the start. I would assume most people do not want to cut another hole and that's why no one has done it this way before.

It works so far. No complaints. Didn't cut any wires or hoses while doing this. Everything is easily moved out of position to clear the routing.

I will be drilling the A pillar to mount the bracket for the top support of the snorkel also.

Don't envy you cleaning those wheels, but they do look nice.
