So far they can't even make the regular 6ft model as they have been back ordered since September 2012!

What kind of tent or camper shell are you using when you camp? Curious to know how spacious it is covered.

Well my Airbedz has been back ordered since Sept 2012. Just got notice that they finally have stock and have a tracking number.

I hope it was worth the 2 year wait!

Anybody looking for a long bed version? Only used a couple of times and I just upgraded to a tundra so don't need it anymore. I have a Napier sportz tent that pairs real well with it, too.

In a short-bed the wheel wells are closer to the cab, so the extra mattress above the wheel wells would have nowhere to go

I too have a short-bed, and wish there was one for us....

Mick, sorry my airbedz won't work for you!

What I did in my old truck was just roll up a futon pad and a featherbed mattress topper thing and made a makeshift bed in the back.

You could also make a platform and get an inflatable camping pad or 2 so you'll still essentially be at wheel height for sleeping. Or make a platform and travel with the mattess topper under it and pull it out for sleeping.

At any rate, I'd stay away from a bed mattress that doesn't cover the wheels. Rolling over on that or having it press down right there would be very annoying.

I got a truckbedz one. Not the good one out of stock but the next one down and it is pretty damn good. Didn't leak on me. The key is inflating them at home to get the initial stretch out

    Sooo... no air bedz?

AutoAnything has done endless back orders to me before as well, I won't order through them.

The last I looked places where starting to stock them.
I don't blame AutoAnything, I actually think their service was fantastic and they handled the back order situation great, and I'm quite critical.

I do blame Airbedz as it appears they didn't have product for almost 2 years!

Can't wait to try it out!

So the cheaper truckbedz worked good in the short bed?

I'm impressed and curious to know how extremachn1 got this AirBedz Mattress PPI 102 Short Bed Size to work on his 2005 DCSB. It looks like it fits nicely.

    Any ideas?

Note: the issue with these mattresses is that most are made for the 6ft bed. The wheel wells in the 6ft and 5ft are configured differently so mattresses for the 6ft don't naturally fit the 5ft bed.

As CO Ryan explained on the previous page:
"In a short-bed the wheel wells are closer to the cab, so the extra mattress above the wheel wells would have nowhere to go

    l l.....longbed

    Both pics belong to extremachn1

How many times can you inflate/deflate on a single charge? And can you just plug the pump into the wall? Because my taco has a 110 V outlet in the tailgate :)
