    Hi All,

Lurker for awhile, but finally needed to ask a question. I bought a fantastic 07 TRD Double Cab a few weeks ago, and I'm loving it. Dealer said it had a 3" inch lift (It has a lift of some kind, and I know it was done at a real shop, not a weekend warrior hack job as far as I know.) I'm hoping someone can identify what exactly was done to the suspension from the pictures below. I believe a leaf was added to the rear, but beyond that I'm new to Tacoma's, much more familiar with Evo's and Skyline's.

It appears to be a Revtek spacer in the front with a block in the rear. The shocks are stock.

Looks like a Revtek spacer and a block an AAL ( unless you have the 4 leaf pack )

You are correct its not a 1:1 ratio. Not sure its 1.5"s but I know it creates 3 inches of lift.

Since you're new to trucks, but come from cars, I'll put it into terms you can understand:

You have the truck world equivalent of Raceland coilovers. You have the cheapest possible lift kit available for your truck. While it's not a road hazard by any means, it's really not the best way to go. For only a couple hundred dollars more than that lift cost, the previous owner could have had a much better handling truck with higher quality components.

    Welcome to TW
That lift = barf. The truck deserves better.
Do some research and you will find out why. Lots of help and suggestions on TW.

Fantastic info, thanks. That does make sense. I'm not so new to trucks really, just trucks that I care about. I had a feeling that it was just a spacer lift, since the shocks seemed stock. I'll definitely be looking into getting a proper suspension lift. When you say a much better handling truck, do you mean on road, off road, or both? It's a daily driver that is also an adventure vehicle. It will be a shuttle truck for mountain biking, getting me into remote areas for ice climbing and fishing, stuff like that. I like the ride height of the 3" I think, but my tires still rub a bit after a lot of trimming of bodywork. I'd have to get a lot more drastic to do any more I think. It rubs on frame when I am turning and the shocks compress. I'm eager to learn, so I hope this forum proves a good resource.

i'm in almost the exact same boat!! i bought a 07 dc and love it. mine i guess has a 1 inch spacer in the front, 1 inch block in the back. mine rides on 285/70/17's. they rub slightly on the front of the front fenders at full lock and suspension compression.

i'm looking at ways to redo the lift, clear the tires, but most important for me is to be able to tow also. gotta have a way to get the drag car to the track!!

i'll be following your progress, and picking up tips along the way.
