Painting calipers and drums. Color?

OK, So here is my truck..
(Now I have black emblems all around, and black sockmonkey bedside decals)
My calipers and drums are starting to show their age..
What color do you think I should paint the calipers and drums?
I was thinking red calipers and black drums, but is the red ricey?

I did my calipers black, G2 caliper paint worked bitchin!! looks as good as when I painted them. I should hit the drums sometime tho.

How about black caliper / red drum?

 

naw you dont want to have red drums with black calipers, i still say all black but maybe pinstripe Brimbo on them in white.

 

or pinstripe the toyota symbol on them...either way, blk/blk. This thread reminded me that I have a black caliper paint kit just waiting to do truck calipers instead of using it on the car. Hmmmmm?

 

My 06 TRD Sport saw road salt corrosion on all brake parts. My Taco is radiant red with alloy wheels. I wire-brushed the calipers and painted them red. With the red body and red calipers, it looks pretty cool!!

Total vanity, but what the hell.

for me since I'm a BSP...I would get them powder coated black and black...

I'll agree that painting drums anything but black looks like trash. I'd also use some black on the bell of the rotor.

 

thanks for all the posts guys.. i'll figure it out somehow.. pinstriping the toyota emblem or "TOYOTA" is a great idea... maybe two coats of red, then put a "TOYOTA" decal on, then spray 2 coats of black, remove the "TOYOTA" decal, and viola!

black caliper with "TOYOTA" in red..

or vice versa, red calipers with "TOYOTA" in black.. either way..

then the rear drums all black.

if go through all that trouble i'll do the bell of the rotor as well..

then i should get new wheels to show it off more.. and a lift to show off the new wheels.. if only our wallets grew as quick as we could think of mods..

 

My plan was to put a red coat on, let it dry, then tape off "TACO" and paint the rest black. Thought that would look sweet!

But, red calipers and black drums is what I voted for.

 

For your color truck...black would be best for the caliper color. I suggest never paint the rear drum other than black (it would look horrible otherwise)

the red on the caliper goes well w/the red on the TRD logo! very nice!
