looks like we may be around for another winter and tax season....

so the debate in my head starts....where to get a pass...

loveland gets me 3 days at monarch, 3 days at CB, closer with views of the highway to see when i need to hightail it out of there, no problem if the pass is closed, smaller lines and less douchebags

abasin gets me an unguided day at silverton, better terrain, still close but sucks if the pass is closed, deal with douchebags, kind of small lines, did i mention bad ass terrain?

for $10 more i can throw keystone in the mix...but then i have blackouts, but who wants to ride there at those times anyway :goingcrazy:

    359 vs 289 vs 299

    hmmm....

Monarch blows donkey balls, so don't even consider that as an upgrade. Even the hike able terrain is not as good as some of the A-basin stuff. Ive always hated the lines at the vail resorts, and everyone gets those passes so they are always crowded. Never skied loveland, so I cant comment. I spent some time up in silverton this summer working on a few mines, and I would love to ski Silverton, but there is no way in hell I would do it unguided the first few times I went. That shit is crazy steep and you can run into huge cliffs very easily. I just picked up a RMSP+ for unlimited at WP, Copper, Eldora, 6 days at steamboat, and 6 at crested butte for 409.

i've had passes to the vail resorts and ride abasin a lot...had a pass to loveland for a couple years in the past and usually get a few 4paks anyway, so i know i like both of them...

silverton is my favorite out of any CO mtn...unguided isn't that bad...just know your limits and get educated as much as you can...i have 6 days i think at that mtn all unguided...nothing compares

yea monarch is kinda blah...never done mirkwoods tho

CB is fun and would love to hit that up a few more times, so that's a pull...those tix are much more than silverton (~$50 unguided)

silverton is cheap enough where i'll pay to go there anyway at least one day this winter...might do some tent camping :D

    RMSP isn't a bad deal...

A 6 pack goes a long ways for a 21 year old ski bum in Denver....... Im looking at a day or two in Silverton this year as well, might grab some tickets to loveland just to give it a shot. Steam boat and CB were the big draws for me, and WP/MJ is great if you know where to go, it can suck if you are clueless.

if you make it down to silverton, let me know..i'll be heading down near the end of unguided season most likely...tax season and guided season don't mix well

love sleds...no place to store it and already have enough toys to dump money into :D

used to have them back in NY and know with the given terrain here, i'd dump a LOT of money into them haha

I will store it for you. I'll even keep the seat warm :D

It is a money hole but most of the newer sleds don't need a ton of work to shred some powdah....Little bit of clutch work and most of the new 800's can get just about anywhere I wan't to go with them...

^ There is that...but I still ride an 03 Artic Cat that was like $4K IIRC...Not bad for a toy going strong still. Burns oil like a beast but is more sled than most need. You can still get a lot done on a cheap sled with a couple mods...

I love silverton, I can't wait for retirement because it will be down that way! I think I'm going to get an Eldorado pass this year. Went there all last year and I waited in zero lines it was epic.

Anyone want to shoot tomorrow? Prolly just going to take my .270 out and play with distances.

Still up in the air on where. Most likely great guns in nun. it's $20 but they have a 300 yd lane. My scope was lose and I bumped it the other day and need to zero it in again.
