I don't really get the playlist thing that they talk about... Is there no way to navigate the menus and such like you would do on your iPod?

The Playlists organize your music however you want. For example, I have 4 playlists.
    #1 is Wife friendly
    #2 Is punk rock
#3 is a random mix of songs I listen too when traveling
    #4 is all songs.

All due respect to our new mod but... I think this one is the best since you don't have to make funky playlists just to trick the dealio...

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kKsX_aFIf3w

The only problem is that it wont work on the JBL model.

You dont "Have" to make play lists with the PA15-TOY. It works just fine without them. All the playlists do is allow you to have other music folders...:)

I just think the PXAMG is kinda cool that it allows you to scroll through artists on the screen.

Yeah...There is an automatic all songs playlist and an iPod direct mode...As well as whatever you set into playlists.

No control of the folders or menus on the headunit-but at that point you are messing it the radio alot or the iPod alot...so it's not any safer...and you still get the sound thru the speakers.

    I love mine.

This looks pretty sweet. How was the install (if you even have installed it) and do you use the hd radio feature?

I did. I got a smokin' deal ($100 open box at Best Buy) only to have to take it back because of the JBL thingee. My comments were on the YouTube site to the manufacturer.

The install was easier than changing a tire on a hot day (had throw that hot day in there since it may have been a bit harder).

But really, the only thing that may have caused a prob is getting the two little panels (on mine 4X4 switch, on access cab the SRS switch). Go to Harbor Frieght and get their little plastic dealie-bobs to pry them off with.

    Bumpin an oldie....

My current ipod2car PXDP unit is a good 5+ years old and something about the 'hardware' in the unit just isn't all that compatible with the newer ipods. I've been running it with a 80gig 5th gen for a while but the click wheel doesn't work very well unless you unplug it from the PXDP. Now that I've changed to an even newer ipod (120gig 6th gen), the click wheel clicks on it's own in the middle of songs....and I hear it clicking (laugh). Yeah, I know...I could just turn the click off. It's time for a new one...it also makes funky 'scratchy' noises during songplay sometimes.

So, I've been contemplating getting another PXDP or going a different route altogether.

I have an 07 non JBL.
That PXAMG looks neat but far too complicated and I wouldn't use all the features anyway.

In terms of the PA15 - Chris or anyone else - this playlist stuff you guys talk about? How's that different to the playlists in the ipod?
Do you program separate playlists in the PA15?

What TEXT does it display on the OEM head unit?

How's the volume? With the window down on the highway.....how loud can you turn the volume and can you still hear the music?
