im sick of the always loose wobbly hood issue

anyone have a good hood support mod or thread or video showing how to better support this flimsy way it sits on the truck? I hate to see it fluttering as I go down the expressway like its not closed good

Haha mine too. Sometimes it is hard to pop the hood because of a lack of pressure too.

    Ideas?

Turn the little round rubber bumpers up that are located under the hood in the front corners. They just twist up/down. They apply pressure to the hood while latched.

mine are solid bumpers that don't adjust and my brothers (89) are the kind that adjusts but his are maxed out and his does the same.

I was planning to put some of those stick on chair leg pads under the hood to apply pressure but I don't know how much gap I have and don't want to put undue stress in the wrong place

figured someone knew of a hood spring mod or universal thingy to replace the stock bumpers with that will adjust better to hold it secure

Rubber with age will shrink and being under compression over the years don't help much either. You may have to buy some new ones.

ya I was wondering about just that, I guess the new ones would likely be an updated version to the adjustable kind?

Maybe you could try some thick foam weather stripping like the stuff that goes around house doors? Put a couple strips on the inside lip of fenders and another on the front clip? I am planning on doing his just to help prevent water dripping down into the engine bay when it rains, even though it's not much but still annoying if you keep your engine bay clean.

Wonder if you could put 2 holes in the back to put 2 more bumpers.

Mine flutters worst at the passenger rear.

Mine does the same, I have thought about adding two more side bumpers towards the back side of the hood on the sides on the top fender, there are two towards the front

Notice the center of the hood flexing at the car wash and looked at the support ribs and most of those in the middle have the glue/caulk/whatever popped loose. Never seen this before. Anyone else have this?
