make sure its up to temp (110*-130*) i think when u check it after u refill, i did the 3.2 qt at 154xxx also droped pan and cleaned filter (i bought the truck with 142000 dunno previous maint.) after a while i notice it shifted funny but i just a shift solenoid had gone bad and i just delt with it. anyway about 175000 i decided id do another 3.2 and see if it was any better. at this time i had the torque app on my phone and could read trans temps. when it got to temp i checked it prior to the change and it poured our the check bolt. after the drain and fill i let it warm back up and check it and got it to where it just dripped out. about a week of kinda wierd shifting (air in the line i guess) its smooth as velvet now, and i plan to do the 3 qt every 25000 for the next 25 years or so

If you take it to the dealer, might as well have them throw in a new filter while you're at it. It's not included in either of those services. I asked them to do it when they flushed mine, and they told me it wasn't any extra labor, just the price of the gasket and filter. $29 I think.
