Check really well too, twist and push everything, cause I thought it wasn't anything, and the mechanic found it in 30secs. I was sure it was u joints, thanks to Monte, but couldn't find it myself. Glad I took it in there for him to check it out. He said my CB is just fine, what I originally thought the culpreit was.

Got the u joint replaced today. Feels like a new truck. Crazy smooth, apparently I had some pretty gnarly vibes that came on slow and steady and I just got used to them. Also, got my e brake issue sorted. It used to not hold the truck worth anything, and the handle would come back out a bit after attempting to disengage it. It is that spring directly under the driver seat on the undercarriage. It got sort of corroded from wheeling and h2o crossings, blasted a bunch with wd-40, cleaned, then white grease. Brakes got adjusted too. Holds like a champ, and hand brake is tight. Was a good day. Oh, also put on a vinyl sticker. Pics in the light tmrw.

So it was the U joint? Sweet. Glad it's fixed.

I hear that, I'm used to bringing 2 big rocks to put next to my tires when I park. Super stoked to be able to have that piece of mind.

Nope, not well. It would lurch. Found it in the middle of the cul de sac when visiting my aunt a few years ago. Never left it without the rocks if I was on any angle since.

Welcome! Going to try and wire my Blue Sea System terminal fuse block and cb radio this weekend, and tune my cb antenna. I've had it all for too long not to, just been nervous messing with wiring.

    Subbed! Nice truck
Came here from the expo thread. Have you tried out the mattress yet or is that for this coming trip? I'm interested to know what you think about it traveling with your girlfriend because I'm thinking of going that route for my truck, too.

Thanks! Like your rig as well, subbing to your thread now, haha. We haven't slept on it yet, but it's a 4.5" Classic Brands pull-out-couch replacement memory foam. Only layed on it so far, and it's SUPER comfy. What's in your shell? I wish I got windoors, but couldn't spend that extra few hundo.

Will definitely be updating with pics and reviews along the road. Going to bring the tent and air mattress too for places where we can set up a legit camp, and just crash in the truck if we don't have time or are super tired.

I built the platform super high to fit our rubbermaid camping totes and full-size cooler. Suffer on sleeping room to haul more conveniently, we'll see how that goes haha.

Right on, well I can't wait to hear how it goes! How expensive was the mattress? My only reservation about going with a mattress is storage, but I'll have to look into other inflatable options that pack down a bit better.
My shell has the rear flip-up windoor, a passenger side flip-up windoor, and driver's side sliding windows. So far I've just used a twin air mattress in the back, but that's just bulky and doesn't really work well for two people...

Yeah I noticed yours was quite tall! The storage containers I have are all a bit shorter, so I think I'd just build my platform on the wheel wells.

Mattress was 150, Link just looked, somehow it's cheaper now..damn. haha. We chose the pull-out-couch mattress because I figured I could fold and strap it closed to save space and throw it somewhere. But, it's definitely a commitment to have, hell, even the top is. For me, they come hand in hand. Made my platform the night I picked up the topper, so I was all in.

Ah yes, if you're not going to be using the topper all the time, that makes sense. I have mine on all the time, so storage of the mattress would be a separate issue for me. Strapping it closed doesn't sound too bad, though! I'll think about it. Thanks!

Yeah, mine's going to stay in there full-time, unless I have to move. Then, I'll just break it down and store it somewhere.

Finished the shell mods with curtains. I ran fishing wire and clamps to secure it:

Just landed back at my apt in LA. Was a hell of a trip. Super excited on the truck. Performed amazingly, slept GREAT in the back. Adventuremobile FTMFW. More pics to come when I sort out all the cameras and photos.

Came to realize. I don't want/need an extreme wheeler, just want something to adventure my face off. The tall shell has great storage underneath the bed, and enough room to be comfortable to sleep in. Really only things left on the truck are front bumper (thinking all pro build yourself), snorkel, maybe rims and tires (33s), and some extra lights. So far, truck has been wheeling in AZ, WA, OR, CA, CO, UT. Booya.

Right?! I would love a sas, supercharged, exoskeleton rig, but this is my dd, I don't have a tow rig or an alternate dd. To be honest, my girlfriend has a '14 Prius, and it's fu*king awesome (besides the get-up-and-go) :turtleride: otherwise, it's fast as hell on the freeway. The turning radius always blows my mind, as well as when the mileage is ~60mpg. What I'm saying, is maybe future Tundra & Prius if my Tacoma turns into a funmobile.
