Congrats! I've got 4.5 hrs to weekend!

I think I'm leaving the nights gig until next spring. I've not really made my mind up yet but, with the mother visiting during the winter months I'm thinking days may work better...

Doing good. A little snow mixed with the rain tonight. Winter is upon us I fear. I've got a few more things to get organized and put away for Winter. Picking up a set of Blizzaks for the Highlander this weekend.

Hope you have a nice relaxing decompression weekend.

 How ya' doing man. Nice to see you back.

Yea working days definitely had its upside, I could see how being on days would make things easier for you. How has your mother been lately? hows the 4runner treatin ya?

good to see you guys too  Doing good, just trying to get back into this whole night thing haha. Yea I was on days for 4 months after a promotion but since I'm going after another promotion I get stuck on nights while I'm working on getting my training all setup.

How have things been going for you?

My buddy here that just moved from ANC was telling me about the expected snow...I'm hoping it misses us all together this year!

BTW, you'll have to let us know how the Blizzaks work out. I've heard some great things about them but, don't actually know anyone who uses them.

Mom has been doing pretty well except some issues with numbness & weakness in her legs. I'm hoping when she visits she'll get back into a routine of at least daily walking. My sister, who is to help her there and now lives with mom, has been away much of the summer at her new boyfriends house (don't ask). As such, mom is concerned about leaving the house much for fear she'll fall and have problems getting back to the house. When she's at my place, I take her for at least a mile walk everyday (damn, sounds like I'm walking my pups).

The 4Runner is great. I do miss the Tacoma some but, mostly just for looks and the very occasional hauling like the dishwasher I just changed out.

So, what job are you doing and what job will you be promoted to?

Yea I'm trying to be really active about moving myself up within the company to hopefully get out of North Dakota haha. I hear you there, its already in the low 20's here

Well that's unfortunate that your sister hasn't been helping too much. I'm sure you'll take good care of her once shes home with you. On the bright side you'll be able to knock two birds out with one stone by walking with both your mom and dogs at the same time. Hows your son liking his new job?

Same job but was promoted to a lead, which is essentially just qualified to handle the entire job process from start to finish and train others. Currently I'm training to use specialized higher end products. For example one of the tools I'm learning uses electro-magnetic pulses to tell us information rather than our usual method of pumping drilling fluid. The benefit to this is we get info instantly rather than waiting a minute, so the customers will happily pay the premium for this service.

Hope I didn't confuse you too much, I usually get a blank stare when I describe what I do to people.

You must have sensed my glazzed look! I kinda got what you're saying about the equipment.:D

Great point on the pups except I use the 4 wheeler to walk them so the last 1/2 mile or so can get them a good work out (15 to 20mph). I'm thinking mom might be pissed if I drag her at that speed. :D:D

The boy is doing really well actually. Kinda makes me wonder if I was worried over nothing. He's in a union place (take it or leave it) but, for pay and and other stuff it works out well. So far he's staying ahead of the study program. It's somewhat self paced and he's about 2 months further along than required. And he's happy as shit and staying out of trouble...that's all I really want for him. So it's good.

So where or when is the next step? Say you want out of ND?

haha yea essentially the more complicated products I train on the more money I can make and more marketable I am to the company.

haha I don't think that method of walking would work with your mom. But its worth a shot.

well thats good to hear, glad hes found something hes happy with. That must make up for the stress you were under before he got the job.

I should be trained up around February maybe sooner and then I can get down to drilling in Colorado. Which would be great cause Id get to sleep in my own bed every night :D. Working up here isn't bad but its just stressful being 750 miles away from your home for almost a month at a time.

Blizzaks are fantastic for snow and ice. We've run them for the last 4 years. Ran studded Nokians and Hankooks for 8 years before that. I wouldn't go back to studs for anything. And they are wearing well too; this will be the 5th, and probably last, season for the set I'm running on my truck. Wear rate was my big concern when I initially switched over to them. I decided I'd be happy with 3 seasons, but they've exceeded my expectations.
Sorry for your Mom. She'll be better off staying with you.

I'm good Melissa. One more shift after this one. It's relatively slow again tonight.

I think I get what you do.

Glad to read that about your son. I know you were worried about him for a while.

When I was in my 20s I could sleep anywhere at anytime with almost anything going on. I still have no problem sleeping most of the time. My wife doesn't get it. I can sleep on the couch with a house full of people.
Maybe I'm not sleeping. Just a subtle hint:rolleyes:
