No desire to see Africa under any circumstance, even the best ones. But malaria kills a child there every 30 seconds and something like 68% of the population has AIDS.

Ebola sounds scary, but 3300 dead out of over a billion living in undeveloped and unclean third world conditions and with limited to zero healthcare doesn't seem very scary. If you "get it" then you will most likely die is a lot scarier than the chances of actually contracting it.

2013 population is much higher than 1.1 billion.

And yes, ebola has the potential to f us over. If it ever mutants and becomes airborne, we are in for a BIG problem.

2013 population of Africa was 1.111 billion per internet, not global population.

It would not have been, if the dude going to texas, didn't lie to doctors when he left Liberia. It kinda shows how easy it is to bring it here.
From what I remember, the virus only lasts about an hour, exposed to the air. It's easily killed, too.
Some things to worry about, some things not to worry about.

In the past, it caused more issues than it was worth, so the staff decided against it and has worked out better this way for all it seems.

    Thank you.

Good idea. Here is the link for those who would like to review the no political discussions.

You're posting like me now, stop it!

And no, but 3300 out of 1.111 billion people contracting a virus and dying just isn't alarming. More people die from car crashes in one month in the US. Just trying to sift through what is "OMG THIS IS SCARY" from "OMG END OF DAYS," since the impact ebola has had on a population is incredibly small in Africa, so my assumption is that it's being over hyped into a huge scare fest in America.

Why is 3300 dying from one more scary than 3 million dying from another?

I though someone dude worked with animals got a mutated virus then passed it to his gay lover and that when the first aids strain was formed.

Which is also why if you give blood they always ask if males have sexual contact with other males.

Its on a questionnaire they have people fill out every time they donate, at least in my experience.
