Funny you should mention airstrip fees. I saw something similar when I was in the Army. People in other countries want the US to come save them but they also want the US to pay for the privilege too.

    They do that here too.

They ask about gay sex, drug use using needles, have you gotten a tattoo and have you traveled iirc

I recall all the other questions...just not the sex with another male

Maybe I checked the wrong box the first time and they think I'm a woman?

Drugs yes, tattoos yes, travelled yes, no question about buttsekz from what I recall.

Maybe this is a sensitive CA omission however.

That 68% figure is the percentage of world HIV infections that also occur in Africa, not the percentage of Africans with HIV per se. In some area of Africa the percentage of the population infected with HIV is very high (for instance, Swaziland is 28%) but in Africa overall it's more like 5%.

HIV is a real problem in Africa though and I agree with you on being a bit wary of going there. Also, you have to watch yourself especially when working in certain jobs. I've got a cousin who works for one of the big oil companies in Africa and he says that the oil rigs had to be essentially segregated into HIV and non-HIV sections because of all the minor injuries involved in drilling operations and chance of contamination.

Scientists traced it back to Haiti. I guess the first documented AIDS carriers in the U.S., were Haitian immigrants.

Apparently in Canada it was a gay flight attendant :notsure:

The guy who brought it to Dallas apparently caught it from when he helped a pregnant woman

This is what you're talking about.

He was a big reason for the spread of the virus, but he was not patient zero. After he found out he was infected he intentionally had unprotected sex with people to infect them.
